{Product Review} Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

Sunday, 22 April 2012

Whilst shopping the other day at the local drug-mart I saw this pretty little pink bottle sitting on the very lovely and bright display in front of the makeup isle. I walked over to it and opened up the tester and saw such a lovely and sweet colour that I instantly reached for a new one and put it in my shopping cart. Jeremy of course rolled his eyes at my new found item, "Another lipstick? Really? Do you need that?" - he just doesn't understand!

When I got home I was so excited to try out my new pretty lipstick and ran to the washroom to see how the new hue looked on me! I was really quite thrilled with the shade of pink that was now on my lips, it really brightened up my whole look. I also loved how wonderfully creamy it felt, it literally did feel like heavy butter! My lips felt hydrated, soft and smelt sweetly of candy,
  yum!
Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

The only problem I found about Revlon's Lip Butter is that if you have dry lips it will really show through the lipstick colour and your lips will look all flaky. You want to have your lips scrubbed and soft when you apply this colour, otherwise it seriously just does not look nice.

I have worn this colour all day every day for the past 4 days now and I am still totally enamoured with the bright fun colour, silky smooth feel and yummy smell.  Definitely going to be purchasing some other colours soon!

  1. I have always wanted to try this actually! Except my lips are always dry and that's my pet peeve when the flakes show. I tend to put chapstick on first and then whatever color on top to prevent that (sometimes that theory works..other times not so much :) )

    1. Yeah I have that issue too, that's why I really wanted to make note of it in my review - it never looks good to have dry, flaky lips show through your lip stick and I was a bit surprised that I hadn't read any other reviews that noted this. Chapstick is always a good idea, but actually lately I have been putting avocado oil on my lips before bed and it has really helped improve the dryness!

  3. Love this lipstick! I've got one of the lip butters already, and I love it. I find that it works really well over the Elizabeth Arden Lip-Fix Cream (which I found at TJ Maxx...yay!).

    1. Thank you! Yeah definitely makes a huge difference, probably why I have so many unused lipsticks is because the feeling of them just isn't all that great! This one will definitely be used up though!

  12. I quite like the shade it gives in outdoor lighting! I'm normally a little wary when it comes to pinks as sometimes it stains my lips for days, was this easy to remove? & hahahaha oh boys that made me laugh! :Px
