Life Update time!
So as I told you last week, this past weekend I was on a little getaway with Jeremy to his very hippie-ish + super chilled out hometown. We were there to celebrate his 25th birthday and get all our friends together to catch up. I always forget how much I love it there when I am back in the city, I forget how wonderfully secluded it feels, how fresh the air is, and how green and lush the forestry is! Whenever I leave I always tell myself "I am going to be back here soon!" and then it'll be  months before I make it back over. It's so close to home but yet it feels so far, it feels so different from the lifestyle I live and I just love how life is lived over there, its so much more peaceful.
Anyways, lets put aside from my lifestyle-envy and move onto what we actually did while we were away!

The first day we got there we went over to Jer's brothers house for a BBQ/birthday party event. We cooked up a super yummy cedar planked BBQ'd salmon, veggie skewers, chicken skewers, and a delicious avocado salad - there was so much food there we could have all had 3 or 4 helpings each, which made for A LOT of leftovers! People really went all out with the food, it was pretty impressive and I ended up feeling a bit lame with the veggie skewers I had made.

The party was a lot of fun, we all just hung out, chatted throughout the night and I even got to meet some people Jer knew from High School.  The night came to a close when it became to late for any of us to be totally awake, coherent and sane, so we slumped off to bed.

Here is what I wore:

The next day Jer and I went on short but sweet hike and again saw a spectacular view which I unfortunately do not have a photo of, but it was really beautiful! This hike was really short but much less enjoyable than the 6 hour hike we did because it was all stairs. Hikes that are made up completely of stairs are just so difficult, my legs were killing me - they felt all wobbly and weak! I just kept thinking "I did a 6 hour hike and cannot do a 30 minute hike? Seriously?!"

We finally got back home around 7-8 pm and were completely zonked. I think that's one of the best sleeps either of us has ever had. I very well may have snored. Even Jeremy could have snored and I honestly couldn't complain because I was so out cold I never would've heard. Really, someone could have been yelling in my face and I probably would've just kept on snoozin'.

Hope you all are having a good week thus far!

  1. Hey love! Nice to know you had such a nice time at your hippie party! The outfit you wore is awesome, you look super cute! Love the bell-bottom jeans! I have a lot of bell-bottom jeans, just can't get enough of them. I'm really not feeling the way trendy pants are cut nowadays. Too tight, too skinny, so unconfortable...one or two skinnies in my closet is more than enough!

I totally agree, all the jeans out there now are super skinny, overly fitted and sometimes thats just not what I want to wear! I love having a pair of flared jeans to switch it up! xx
