While I was away on my trip I was lucky enough to try out a few lovely Bare Escentual products - the concealer, bronzer and setting powder - and fell totally in love with the over-all effect. I tried out these products because my travel buddy, my cousin, brought them in her beauty bag to Europe. I did not bring much make-up on our trip, and quite quickly I became bored with my look and my makeup - and just went I thought I was going to go insane and buy out the Sephora store in Rome, she offered me a solution. She pulled out three little jars, one filled with a light cream powder, one filled with a dark cocoa-hued powder, and the last filled with a light airy peachy colour and began to expertly play with the three colours to finally create a fresh, almost make-up-less look that was both understated and sophisticated. She made the bronzer define my cheekbones and jawline, while the concealer covered up my tired-eyes - I was so impressed with the over all look, I looked awake and bright - like I had a full nights rest!
For the duration of the trip, any time we went out at night I would borrow her set to re-create the fresh-faced look. I knew that when I got home this would be my first purchase.
I purchased the bareMinerals Customizable Set ($60.00 set in Canada) which comes with a setting powder, a bronzer/ contouring bronzer, and a custom foundation
Walking into the store and looking at the variety of sets really threw me through a loop, I had absolutely no idea which colour suited my skin at all and so I stood there looking at all my options totally confused, probably looking a bit out of my element. Thankfully one of the sales girls noticed and came over to me asking if I needed help, I told her that I had zero idea what my skin type was really and so we went over to her makeup booth so she could assess my skin. She asked if I ever get oily in my T-zone, have tendencies for breakouts or get irritated by facial makeup and I said no to the first two questions but definitely Yes to the last - I have never really worn facial makeup before because the few times I had used it before I had ended up in hives. She said that BareEscentuals would definitely suit my skin type because it is so light, airy and natural that it is incredibly unlikely to have a allergic reaction, and from my experience with it in Europe it seemed like a good fit. She said I would likely use the foundation as a concealer because I do like to wear my makeup so lightly. After discussing all my skin options we were off for the tough part - choosing the right colour! The colour I ended up with was called " Fairly Fair" which is the second lightest tone you can actually buy, its a very light porcelain colour with "neutral tones" - the fairest colour called "Fair" has pink tones which apparently does not suit my skin at all!
After purchasing my own Bare Escentuals set I started using the concealer every day under my eyes and I really loved how bright and wide eyed it made me look. Since being home from my trip I have definitely had a rough time getting used to waking up at 6AM again so covering up my bags is a must and this product does just that oh-so-well!
I tend to only wear the bronzer on weekends if I am going out but again this product is amazing and it applies very easily which is a relief because streaky bronzer is never a good look!
Lastly they provide you with a setting powder which is really light and lovely. It sets the concealer really well without leaving a dusty, dry, powdery look which is a huge relief because again, chalky makeup is never a good look!

All in all I think Bare Escentuals may produce some of the best products I've ever tried, the concealer and powder are light and natural feeling while still giving great coverage and they all apply so easily it's nearly impossible to screw up! The bronzer gives a wonderfully sun-kissed look without looking orange - it's totally fantastic! Definitely would recommend these products to anyone!
