Albatross has long been hailed one of NAR’s best beauty products in their entire line. It is a product that rarely receives a lack-luster review and that is known world-wide as one of the best highlighting products ever. For some time I have wanted to purchase Albatross, but for some reason (the money- that’s the reason, I am frugal!) or another, I have always refrained from purchasing it. My poor fella has had to be subject to my beauty rants, he listens and nods but surely he has no idea what I am talking about when I say “all I want to buy is Albatross by NARS! Why is that highlighter so darn expensive?!” – or so I thought.
This past Friday I reached 1000 followers on The Urban Umbrella, it was a very exciting moment for me. As I told you all yesterday, I called Jer up immediately and told him my exciting news. Being the sweetheart that he is he decided to surprise me in celebration and he brought home a lovely silly card & a little gift bag from Sephora.
Upon opening the gift bag up I was thrilled & overjoyed to find NAR’s Albatross and I am pretty sure I hopped up and did a strange victory/excited dance. It was weird. Thankfully I calmed myself down and stop the very odd crumping dance moves and was able to finally look at the lovely product that I had been coveting for so long.So now, I am the happy & proud owner of Albatross and guess what? It’s just as fabulous as it’s rumoured.
PACKAGING: All of NARs packaging is very sleek and professional looking. The simple black and white is clean, classic and I love it!
COLOUR: Albatross is described as a "sheer white golden sheen", I'd describe it as a soft cream white hue with flecks of gold in it. If applied too heavily the gold becomes very prominent, but if you apply just the right amount you get a perfectly angelic dewy look.
COST: This is an expensive product coming in at $29.00 (price from Sephora online) & $32.00 on the NARS cosmetics website. If you’re looking for a golden-toned highlighter (rather than the usual pink tones) that will last around 6/7 hours though it’s pretty worthwhile.
DUPES? I was recently told by Rachel from "Life Unsweetened" that ELF has a dupe that lasts less time. I have not tried this but it’s worth checking out if you want something similar for less cost.
