Okay, I’m going to let you in on a little secret – I love Happy Hours. No, seriously – I love them. During this passed summer, my friend and I frequented patios with week day happy hours. When fall came, I thought our decadent little habit would come to an end, but instead it just shifted to us discovering new Happy Hours to try.
This means, I’ve tried a lot of Happy Hour menus – and have uncovered the best of the best. So, if you’ve in Vancouver and on the hunt for a great place to eat and grab a few cocktails without breaking the bank than you’ve come to the right place!
6 Best Happy Hours in Vancouver
Chewies Steam & Oyster Bar – 1055 W Hastings St #110, Vancouver, BC V6E 2E9 – 604-620-7634
If you’re an Oyster fan, than you’re going to love Chewies. My fiancé and I have frequented Chewies for a while now as we just can’t get enough of their Happy Hour buck-a-shuck deal. If you’re not a oyster fan though, don’t worry – their Happy Hour menu has loads of other dishes for you to choose from. In addition, they have $5 wine and beer during their happy hour. Their Happy Hour runs Monday to Sunday 3:00PM – 6:00PM.
Black and Blue – 1032 Alberni St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 2V6 – 604-637-0777
During the summer season, one of my go-to spots was Black and Blue. $5 wine, a awesome happy hour menu, and a rooftop patio? I mean, that’s just too good to pass up! What I didn’t realize until just recently though was that they covered the patio during the winter months so that you can still sit up on their patio during the winter.
Oh, and did I mention that their happy hour occurs daily? Yep, from Sunday – Friday you can enjoy affordable and delicious eats + drinks! They have $5 wine, sangria, highballs, margaritas and beers during their happy hour. Their Happy Hour runs daily from 2:30PM – 6PM.
Yaletown Brewing – 1111 Mainland St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2T9 – 604-681-2739
Discovering Yaletown Brewing was by total accident, but I think it’s safe to say it’s our absolute favourite Sunday Happy Hour. I actually found it with a friend last summer after our initial brunch plans fell through, and we ended up wandering over to Yaletown and discovering Yaletown Brewing. We’re lucky we stumbled upon it because now we love it so much that we’ve made it a long standing Sunday date with all our friends.
At Yaletown Brewing on Sunday you can their enjoy $4.50 beers, and did I mention their (amazing) pizza’s are only $10? If you’re going to try out the pizzas, I highly recommend both the Italian, and the Shrimp pizzas! They also have a full Happy Hour Menu, but we tend to stick to our favourites – pizza and beer. Yaletown Brewing also has a full Happy Hour menu that runs Sunday to Thursday from 3:00Pm – 6:00PM.
Joe Fortes – 777 Thurlow St, Vancouver, BC V6E 3V5 – 604-669-1940
Joe Fortes, like Black and Blue, has a rooftop patio which makes it the perfect spot to go in the summer. During these winter months though, it’s also an excellent spot just to go and enjoy their Happy Hour. Joe Fortes Happy Hour menu is available everyday from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at the bar area only. Their wine, beers, and highballs are just $5, and their dishes are all under the $14.00 price point. Oh, and did I mention they also have $1 oysters?
Tableau – 1181 Melville St, Vancouver, BC V6E 0A3 – 604-639-8692
One of my favourite dinner spots in Vancouver is Tableau. If you ever get the chance to go there for dinner, you need to be sure to get their mushroom on toast because it is to die for! I only wish it was on their Happy Hour menu! But, if you’re not on the hunt for dinner and are just looking for a Happy Hour spot, than Tableau is also a great choice! Their Happy Hour Menu includes $5 beers, wines, and highballs and a select few meal items at 50% off. Best of all, you can enjoy their Happy Hour menu every day from 2:30 – 5:30PM, and also from 9:00PM – close.
The Distillery – 1131 Mainland St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2S2 – 604-669-2255
Two words: Bottomless mimosas. Need I say more?
At the Distillery from Friday – Sunday, The Distillery offers $10 breakfast, as well as bottomless mimosa’s for just$10! The atmosphere at this restaurant is awesome, the service is great, and the breakfasts are delicious. It’s the perfect spot to head on a Sunday AM with your friends.
In addition to their weekend special, from Monday to Thursdays 4 – 6PM / Friday – Sun 3 – 6PM The Distillery also has a Happy Hour menu. Their menu offers $5 wines, beers, and highballs as well as a variety of super affordable dishes – like Sicilian chickpea fries for just $4.50!
