While I believe in caring for your skin year-round, the truth is that during the winter we really need to take extra time and care with our skincare routines. Winter is tough on our skin, and lately I have been noticing my skin looking quite dull, unbalanced, and dry. It’s getting to the point that my usual skincare routine is needing a bit of a extra-boost, and that’s where Binge Masking comes in.

What is Binge Masking?

Binge Masking is using multiple masks in a row. It’s the ultimate decadence for your skin as you’re focusing on giving it multiple treatments one after another. If you’ve ever gone for a facial, you’ve likely noticed that they will use multiple products on your skin. This is similar to that as you’ll be using 2 or more products on your skin in one sitting.

What does Binge Masking Do?

Binge masking helps you achieve softer, smoother, and more glowy skin in a matter of minutes. Since you’re using a variety of products to target a range of issues, you’ll often find that your skin looks it’s absolute best after binge masking. You’ll find that after using multiple masks that your multiple skin concerns are remedied. This instant boost for your skin helps improve the look of your skin in the short-term, but if done regularly this can also be a great way to care for your skin long-term as well.

Why You Should Try Binge Masking

If you’ve had a facial at a spa before, than you likely already know that multiple masks really help your skin. To do this every few weeks to your skin is the ultimate way to pamper your skin and keep it looking it’s best.

More important, Binge Masking allows you to have some much needed “me time”. After a long, busy, and exhausting week at work, it’s nice to unwind with a nice glass of wine, a hot bath, and a skin pampering session. Let’s be honest, the main reason you should try Binge Masking is: because you deserve some you time.

How to Binge Mask

Start by using the most drying mask on your skin and than move into more hydrating ones. You’ll want to finish your binge masking session with a mask that is either made to be worn overnight or to really hydrate your skin. For example, in my Youtube video, I start with a clay based mask, then I use a balancing mask, and I finish with the hydrating mask. This way, I wake up with super healthy looking and feeling skin the next morning.

Since this is a treat for your skin, you don’t want to do this daily. Instead, you want to do this a maximum of once weekly.

4 Fresh Beauty Binge Masking Recipes:

1. Pure Perfection Recipe
  1. Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask (3-5 minutes)
  2. Rose Face Mask  (5-10 minutes)
  3. Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask (5-10 minutes)

This mask set is supposed to help purify and hydrate the skin. This set is ideal for those who either have unbalanced skin, are blemish prone, or have enlarged pores. Since you’re starting with a clay mask, you’re fighting off those unwanted blemishes, then you’re moving onto the balancing  Rose Mask, and finishing the session with the hydrating Black Tea Mask. By the end of this treatment you have clean, clear, and balanced skin. This is the mask set I used in my Binge Masking with Fresh Beauty tutorial and review video.

Total Time: 13 – 25 minutes

2. Wonder Glow:
  1. Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask (10 minutes)
  2. Rose Face Mask (5 – 10 minutes)
  3. Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask (5 – 10 minutes)

This is Fresh Beauty’s recipe to help you achieve a radiant complexion. This mask set is ideal for those who are struggling with dry, dull, and lifeless looking skin. The Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask helps inject vibrancy back into your skin, while the Rose Face Mask encourages balanced skin, and the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask soothes and hydrates your skin. By the end of this treatment you’ll have seriously glowing skin.

Total Time: 20 – 30 minutes

3. Smooth Moves:
  1. Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask (10 minutes)
  2. Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask (5 – 10 minutes)

This recipe aims to help you achieve softer feeling skin. As someone who struggles with dry skin, this duo is a great go-to for me. Within just a few minutes, your skin is hydrated and smooth – and rough dry skin is nowhere in sight.

Total time: 15-20 minutes

4. A Balancing Act
  1. Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask (3 – 5 minutes)
  2. Rose Face Mask (5 – 10 minutes)

If you have unbalanced or irritated feeling skin than this duo is for you. The Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask helps to clear the skin, while the Rose Face Mask balances it.

Total Time: 8 – 15 minutes

Do I recommend it?

Absolutely, 100% – yes!
If you feel like your skin is needing some TLC, and you don’t have the time or money to go get a facial, than this is the perfect substitute. It makes your skin feel extremely pampered and refreshed. For me, this sort of skincare is great to do before a big event and it’s something I’ll absolutely be doing the day before my wedding. It helps create really soft, smooth, and glowing skin.

The fact is, most of us struggle with a few different skincare issues. For me, I have sensitive and dry skin – but that doesn’t mean I also don’t struggle with the odd blemish. By using these products all together you’re giving your skin the ultimate treat, and the ultimate treatment to sooth all those issues.

This is pretty interesting, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone recommend binge masking before. I wonder though if it would be an overload for your skin 😮

Well, it’s similar process to a facial so if you find your skin gets overwhelmed by facials then you may find this too much! I did 3 masks in a row and found it really improved my skin, but there are recipes that are just 2 masks for those looking for a lighter and faster skin treatment!
