Whenever I get the chance, I always hit the snooze button for those precious extra 10 minutes of sleep. The problem with that is that I end up with 10 minutes less time to focus on getting ready for work! Through my lazy AM snoozing though, and my rushed 5AM gussy-ups is that there are tons of things you can do the night before to ensure that your AM beauty routine is as easy, minimal and seamless as possible.

15 Beauty Tips and Tricks
1. Bat Your Lashes
Try an eyelash enhancer that you put on before bed at night. Tarte Cosmetics makes an all-natural option which claims to increase your lash thickness and length as you sleep! And who doesn’t love long pretty lashes?
2. Create a Routine
Have a nightly skincare routine. Rather than just rushing all your skincare in during the morning, instead try to have your skincare routine be before bedtime and just freshen up in the AM.
3. Overnight Care
Invest in an overnight skincare oil. My personal favourite is the 100% Aragan Light Oil by Josie Maran.
4. Plan Ahead
Choose your outfits the night before. Alleviate some of that AM stress by picking out your look a bit ahead!
5. Have a Hairstyle Backup Plan
Have a hair donut on hand. Let’s be honest, we can’t always have great hair days – but we can hide them away with a chic chignon.
6. Find Your Scent
Find your signature perfume. Looking great is well – great, but smell great is just divine. A few of my favourite scents are: Philosophy’s Loveswept, and 7 Virtues Afghanistan Orange Blossom.
7. Smile Bright
Pearly white teeth are always in style – just ask your dentist! Develop a routine for your oral hygiene that includes not only brushing but flossing as well to keep teeth at their healthiest. For an every-so-often treatment the GLO whitening system works wonders; they currently have a summer bundle too which you can learn more about here.
8. Invest in a Scrub
Don’t have a lip scrub? Make one by mixing a bit of sugar & oil together (or vaseline)! When your lips are looking dry and cracked try using a lip-scrub to scrub away the dead skin cells, not only will it make your lips smooth again – it also helps to enhance the pinkness of your lips! If you’re not into making your own though then try the Bubble-gum lip scrub by Lush, it’s one of my favourites.
9. Hydrate Your Skin
After you shower always moisturize your skin. This will keep your skin soft and smooth. My favourite post-shower moisturizer is Kiehl’s Creme de Corps
10. Go Damage-Free
Try heatless methods to styling your hair to minimize hair damage. I recently posted how I style my hair without heat here!
11. Rest Up
Get lots of sleep. Feeling rested is not only great for your looks; it’s great for your overall health.
12. Hydrate Your Body
Buy a reusable water bottle. Drinking lots of water throughout the day will help keep you looking and feeling refreshed by keeping you hydrated. Water also helps to eliminate bloating.
13. Don’t Neglect Your Legs
During the winter, it’s easy to neglect your body care. If your legs are in need of a little TLC then make a body scrub ( just like in tip 8) to sluff off dead skin cells. Afterwards apply some baby oil to your legs to eliminate any dry spots.
14. Add Some Shine
To get shiny locks all day every day, invest in a great hair serum. My two favourites are Macadamia Natural Healing Oil & Moroccan Oil Treatment. I apply this before bed (and then I braid my hair) as well as after styling my hair to keep my hair healthy and shiny looking. Applying the serum before bed will help eliminate damage from your hair rubbing against the fabric, and it acts as an “overnight” conditioning treatment!
15. Braids, Braids, Braids
Braid your hair at night. Allow your hair to naturally style itself over night by braiding it before hitting the hay. You’ll wake up with pretty curls that’ll last all day!

Bree, these are some great tips… I think having the night regiment is the way to go with my skin care and I like the sounds of the Moroccan oil, my hair could use a good quality oil treatment 🙂
Always love beauty tips! Going to have to give some a try!

Great beauty tips! I always love reading things like this 🙂 My number one tip is (like you said) to use a reusable water bottle and to drink tons and tons of water!! It helps prevents headaches for me and really makes a difference in my appearance. I frequently add lemon slices and/or green teabags to mine too.
