Let’s get honest, sometimes our sense of style gets… misguided. Right before heading away on my trip, I was feeling like my style and my motivation were lackin’. I always get that way right before a trip, it’s like my brain just decides to go on vacation early and says “no” to all creativity.  Since I run a fashion blog though, having lackluster style isn’t really an option (though somehow I still make it one at times!) and during these creative-blocks, I always go back to these easy chic style tricks.   vancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrella

6 Chic Style Tricks to Steal Now

Create stylish looks (even on your least inspired days)

White Jeans Brighten Up a Look

Year-round, white jeans are in-style, but come spring and summer there’s something just extra “right” about them. They brighten up every look, and instantly change-up the combination of a simple t-shirt and jeans. While the outfit may be as low-maintenance and easy as a simple tee and jeans, it’s brighter and more summer-ready feeling. White jeans have recently become my favourite go-to, and I love how they instantly create a bright fresh look. This summer, if you’re looking for something: A) comfortable to wear (just like any jean!) B) want to brighten up your chic style then be sure to grab a pair of white denim. Not sure how to find your perfect pair? I have a full guide on hunting down your staple pair of white jeans! Best of all, you don’t need to tuck away your white denim come fall and winter. It’s easy to stick to our favourite black jeans, jeggings, and dark denim – but the unexpected addition of white denim can really step up your chic style during the winter and fall seasons. Instead, remix them into stylish gray scale looks. While white jeans may not be your instant go to during the cooler months, they will add a bright pop to your look and help overall style achieve a more thought-out and interesting look.   vancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, style tricks, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrellavancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, style tricks, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrella

Metallics are Always in Style

Just like white denim, metallic pieces are in style year-round. A metallic handbag or shoe will instantly add a bit of interest to your outfit, so having metallic piece or two in your wardrobe will always prove to be practical. Over the last few years, I’ve been particularly drawn to rose gold pieces and have found that they instantly warm-up a look for a romantic summery look. During the fall and winter, metallics can also play into a cooled down colour palette (hello, silver) or can add a touch of warmth (golds, and rose golds) to your look.   vancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrellavancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrella

A Great Pair of Heels will instantly Elevate an Outfit

That’s right, a pair of heels won’t only elevate your height – it’ll also kick up your chic style a notch or two. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, than you likely already know that I rarely wear heels – but whenever I feel my style needs a bit more oomph, I’ll always turn to a great pair of heels. Heels elongate your leg-line and will instantly make your legs look a mile long. Plus, heels typically carry a slightly more polished look to them, and will appear as though you’ve put more thought into your overall outfit.   vancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrellavancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrella

Sunglasses add a “Cool” Factor

Feel like skipping the eye makeup today? No biggie, just throw on some shades! Sunglasses are the ultimate accessory for those who want to appear more stylish but are feeling uninspired with their style – or are simply tired and don’t feel like wearing makeup. For this reason, I have about a million sunglasses.   vancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrellavancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, style tricks, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrella

Play with Muted Tones & Pastels

During the summer months, there’s nothing that is more suitable than pretty pastel pieces. Pastels just look right during the spring and summer, and by wearing them you’ll instantly appear more “in style” and on trend. The best pastel tones for the warmer months tend to be lilacs, sky blues, mint greens, and soft pinks. In the winter though, you can also use muted pastel tones such as dove greys, ice blues, sage greens, and grey-toned lavenders. These colours always appear very sophisticated, and can help create really beautiful looks.   vancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, bree aylwin, fashion styles, vancouver fashion blogger, top fashion blogs, popular fashion blogs, top style blogs, style tips, fashion blogger style tips, J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans, - 6 Seriously Chic Style Tricks to You Need to Steal Now by popular Vancouver style blogger The Urban Umbrella

Embrace Relaxed Chic Style

Low-key fashion is my favourite kind, and I am all about ripped jeans, flowy shirts, and sandals or simple combinations of white jeans and pastel blouses. Simple combinations like this may not be ball-room ready, but they’ll always allow you to look  comfortable, effortless and chic.

I like the white jeans idea. I don’t own a pair currently and it’s a shame because they are such a summer staple. Plus, I agree with you about the heels-every outfit can be elevated by wearing a pair of heels

Hi Michelle! So sorry you don’t like my outfit choice! My blog and Youtube channel focuses on empowering women to make their own fashion choices, and to feel adventurous about their style. My advice is simply to help people break out of the box, try new styles, and to help people get out of fashion or beauty “ruts”. 🙂

“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
