If you looked at my Instagram last week or this past weekend, then you may have seen that I spent some time at Coquitlam Centre to share my ideal capsule wardrobe. It was such an incredible event to take part in, and I loved being able to build my dream capsule wardrobe. Cool enough, right now you can enter in to win $2,500 to Coquitlam Centre (contest ends May 15, 2017) in order to build your own perfect capsule wardrobe! For dresses, my capsule wardrobe included a shirt dress and an LBD (total style essentials!) – but one thing I’d add to my list for spring and summer would be an LWD: a little white dress.
Whenever the weather warms up I always turn to my favourite little white dresses. Last year, one of the dress styles that I became obsessed with were eyelet dresses – but I couldn’t find one that fit my budget and looked how I hoped. That all changed though when I saw this Crochet Cami Dress on Chicwish. It looks like the Self Portrait Azaelea Dress that was everywhere last summer but at a fraction of the cost. I chose the white version of this dress, but don’t worry – if you are spill prone like me and would prefer this dress in a different colour than you’re in luck as it is also available in tan!

The thing I love about a LWD is that it’s just as versatile as a LBD, but it has a bit more of a refreshed feel for spring and summer. I mean, brighter seasons call for brighter fashion, am I right? While the LWD is not a groundbreaking trend (who else thinks of Miranda Priestly when they read the word “groundbreaking“?), it is a basic piece which is a great go-to during these warmer months. For work, you can easily dress this up with a blazer, for a casual weekend outfit you can layer it with a jean jacket, and for a nighttime look you can glam it up with a leather jacket and some strappy metallic heels – really, your options are endless!
This dress is so pretty for spring!
