Last weekend we made the trip up to Powell River to join in the celebration Jeremy’s youngest brother’s wedding. On Thursday night we decided to head over early to the Sunshine Coast so that we wouldn’t have to rush to two ferries on the Friday. Whenever I go away, I try to double up on outfits – make one shirt wearable with two looks, or re-wear pants for different outfits. So since we were going up late in the evening on Thursday, I decided I would make my trip over outfit (it’s only a 40 minute ferry ride) be this blue peplum + rosy jeans. The weather had been predicted as being a bit cold so I figured that the jeans would get at least one re-wear.The next morning we headed to the second ferry which took us over to Powell River. I’ve never been to Powell River before, but I had always heard it was a very peaceful and tranquil place to escape to. And it really was all it was said to be – calm, quiet, and pretty. After leaving Thursday night to catch the ferry to the Sunshine Coast, and then a second ferry on the Friday morning to Powell River, I was looking forward to a little peace and quiet.
I don’t know if I’ve ever really mentioned this, but as much as I love to travel and explore – I don’t travel well. I get tired and always end up feeling like I need to have a few hours to pull myself together again before diving into the next thing. One of my favourite ways to hide my sleepiness is by throwing on a pair of sunglasses. I mean sure – makeup can do wonders, but nothing will hide tired eyes quite like a pair of great sunglasses.
As soon as we arrived at our B and B we had to quickly rush to the next destination – the wedding rehearsal and then to dinner. Their wedding took place at an adorable venue called Herondell B + B and so we headed there for the afternoon rehearsal. Even in the rehearsal, emotions were high and everyone welled up a bit as the bride-to-be and her father walked down the aisle.
After a few trials runs of the ceremony, everyone felt confident in what they were to do the next day – and so we all headed back to our hotels to quickly get ready for dinner. Since it was a bit chilly out I decided to rock my new pastel rose pants. I had originally thought I packed a printed shirt to wear with these pants but as usual – I forgot something in the last minute bustle. So this icy blue peplum + dusty rose jeans look ended up doubling as my rehearsal dinner outfit.

so amazing look ;-))
