Sun Protection for Sensitive Skin

Reading Time: 3 minutes

This is a sponsored post. All opinions expressed are 100% my own – as you know, I am very dedicated to my sun protection!

canadian youtuber, canadian beauty blogger, aveeno spf 50 reviews, aveeno spf 50 baby, aveeno spf 50 face When I was a teenager and first began my skin care journey, I started by trying out Aveeno skincare. I was obsessed with their cleansers and loved how gentle their products were on my skin. Fast forward 10+ years and I am still a huge fan of Aveeno products. While summer is my favourite time of year, it’s also a tricky time skin care wise. We are all so attached to the idea of getting a golden summer bronze that sometimes we forget how important caring for our skin truly is. A few months ago, I shared 6 ways to protect your skin from the sun and today I am sharing a bit more on that. So, if you want to keep your skin healthy and sunburn free then be sure to continue scrolling through. canadian youtuber, canadian beauty blogger, aveeno spf 50 reviews, aveeno spf 50 baby, aveeno spf 50 face With Vancouver’s recent heat wave, I’ve been stocking up on sunscreen – most specifically my Aveeno Active Naturals Sensitive Skin SPF 50 sunscreen. I have sensitive skin and I often find products with SPF are especially hard on my skin and that’s why I use Aveeno’s Active Naturals Sensitive Skin SPF 50 sunscreen that is specially formulated for those with sensitive skin. Along with their Aveeno Active Naturals Sensitive Skin SPF 50, Aveeno also sent me their Baby Sunscreen SPF 50. While I do not have children, many of my friends do and the number 1 thing they stress about during the summertime are sunburns. The brutal truth is that a single severe sunburn during childhood can double one’s risk of developing melanoma, and so it’s so important to protect their skin and teach them the importance of using sunscreen. canadian youtuber, canadian beauty blogger, aveeno spf 50 reviews, aveeno spf 50 baby, aveeno spf 50 facecanadian youtuber, canadian beauty blogger, aveeno spf 50 reviews, aveeno spf 50 baby, aveeno spf 50 faceBoth of these sunscreens are dermatologist recommended as they are non-irritating, hypoallergenic, and water resistant for up to 80 minutes. They are also free of parabens, phthalates, dyes, and fragrances. While these sunscreens are super thick and creamy in texture, once they are blended out they don’t feel greasy. They also dry clearly so you don’t have to worry about any obvious sunscreen streaks. Most importantly though the Aveeno Active Naturals Sensitive Skin SPF 50 sunscreen and Baby Sunscreen SPF 50 are both formulated with naturally sourced zinc oxide and plus Active Naturals Oat which locks in moisture while protecting skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays. canadian youtuber, canadian beauty blogger, aveeno spf 50 reviews, aveeno spf 50 baby, aveeno spf 50 face Each bottle costs approximately $15.99 – $19.99 CAD / 88 mL and you can grab your own at Rexall locations. It may seem expensive, but if you’ve ever had a bad reaction to a sunscreen then you know that sometimes it’s worth it to splurge on a higher quality sunscreen that will protect your skin without leaving it irritated.

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want to spend all of my spare time off grid, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and mountains — I would’ve told you that you were crazy... But here we are 🤷‍♀️😂🌲💛 #WhereLifeLeads
“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
