7 Time Saving Beauty Tips

Reading Time: 3 minutes
Today I am sharing 7 Time Saving Beauty Tips so you can sleep more and spend less time on your morning beauty routine!

Time Saving Beauty Tips

I’m into trying anything that will cut down on my morning makeup & hair prep so that I can sneak in a few more minutes of sleep. I don’t want to have to worry about having messy bed head hair, heavy makeup, or brittle nails as I am rushing out the door to work, so I practice these simple tricks to ensure that my mornings are as seamless as possible.

Luckily I have been able to track down a few beauty tips and tricks that truly do make my morning beauty routine a little less troublesome that I had to share with you all; because surely I can’t be the only gal who loves her sleep!

Time Saving Beauty Tips

1. Tinted Lip Balms

Splurge on a tinted lip balm! When you’re in a real rush and have a busy day ahead of you, the last thing you want to fuss over is lipstick or lip-gloss; a tinted lip balm will add a bit of colour to your look without the high maintenance of lipstick.

2. Silky Smooth Pillowcase

Buy a satin pillowcase to minimize your hair breakage & tangles. Rough pillowcases can create brittle & tangled hair which is much harder to work with during your rushed mornings.

3. Highlight Your Eyes

Putting a bit of highlighter on your brow bone and tear duct creates a more open eye. Plus the highlighter on the brow bone makes your eyebrows look more refined and shaped. Some mornings all I apply to my eyes is a bit of brow highlight and some mascara. It’s a quick fix on those rushed mornings to create a pulled-together look in seconds.  By wearing white eyeliner in your inner eye you create a larger and more awake eye. It’s the perfect quick-fix to a late night’s aftermath!

4. Take Care Your Nails

Have cracked or brittle nails? Fill your sink with warm water and add oil to it. I personally use Almond Oil because it is a thinner oil and feels less slick than olive oil, but olive oil works as well. Soak nails in the mixture for a few minutes and then remove hands and dry them off. You’ll notice your nails look and feel much smoother and healthier. Soaking your hands in a bit of oil at night will keep your nails smooth and pretty during the day. Though this isn’t a morning trick it is a preventative trick, and preventative measures will always help keep your mornings running smoothly.  *Also, if your nails have been yellowed by polish then invest in a de-yellowing polish, I use this one. **If your nails continue to be cracked and brittle than visiting your doctor. There may be an underlying health concern.

5. Overnight Hair Styler

By keeping your hair in a loose braid overnight you reduce the likeliness of knots and breakage. The braid also allows you to wake up with easy beach waves so you can reduce your daily styling!

6. Get Lush Lashes

Applying Almond oil on your lash line with a q-tip can help increase lash growth and thickness. Think of the oil as a conditioner for your lashes! So, even if you are so rushed you have to skip your mascara you’ll have pretty doll-like lashes!  Other products I’ve heard work include Vaseline, Olive oil, and Avocado oil.

7. Have a Hair Back-up Plan

We all have bad hair days, and when those days arise I like to have a back-up plan. Often I’ll just tie my hair up either in a braided bun, or a half-up ponytail hairstyle just to get up it and off my face. One way to easily turn a bad hair day around is by using cute hair accessories like scrunchies that have a ribbon trail, or elegant pearl clips.

Great tips – I do use the bun to make mine appear larger otherwise it is a small knot!
I defintely will try the avacodo oil on my lashes and nails – mine are so brittle in this weather!
Also have just started braiding my hair to try to keep the style lasting longer!
    Great tips!

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want to spend all of my spare time off grid, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and mountains — I would’ve told you that you were crazy... But here we are 🤷‍♀️😂🌲💛 #WhereLifeLeads
“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
