One of my absolute favourite parts of the summer and spring months is the ability to go on a lovely stroll, or an intense hike on a whim. Every winter I forget that that option has been taken from me and every winter I go on a stroll only to find that I am absolutely freezing. This year was no exception.
We decided that since it was such a beautifully sunny afternoon that it would be really neat to see these beautiful birds for ourselves. Of course, upon arrival to the park we were saddened to see the lush green photos on the website did not reflect the current state of the muddy and grey park. We stood in the first observatory and saw only crows flying by us. That’s when it dawned on me; the birds had fled to the south for the winter. We both couldn’t stop laughing, how silly that it had never crossed our minds that the birds would be gone, and that the greenery would be gone with them.
