If you’ve been following my blog or Instagram for some time, then you likely know that about a year and a half ago I became engaged to my best friend and boyfriend of 8 years, Jeremy.
It was an exciting day – such an exciting day that I totally blanked out and still can’t remember what he said! And now, we’re approaching another incredibly exciting moment: our wedding day!!
When I began planning our wedding, the one thing that had a big question mark over it was my makeup. While I’ve always loved all things beauty and makeup, I’ve never been one to like actually getting my makeup done.
I have always been very particular when it comes to my beauty routine, and the products I use. And, I’ve always had fairly negative experiences when it comes to getting my makeup did professionally and the foundations they choose for my skin.
The thing that is most difficult about my skin is the fact that I have freckles. Personally, my freckles are one of the things I really like about myself – and I have no interest in covering them up on my wedding day.
Another thing that is difficult about me + my skin is that I really don’t like to feel aware that I am wearing makeup. I like my skin to feel like skin, and I never want to worry about leaving a patch of foundation on someone when I give them a hug.
So after weighing a few factors, I’ve decided that I’ll likely be doing my own makeup for my wedding day. I love doing makeup (I am even doing some of the bridesmaid’s hair & makeup at my friend’s wedding!), I know what I am comfortable with, and I have a lot of time to perfect my ideal wedding day makeup look.
For me, a bridal look is made up of 3 things: gorgeous flawless skin, a natural glow, and romantic eyes. It should be natural enough that you look like you, but still, have a bit of glamour to it.
Today’s makeup look is my first trial run at my wedding day makeup. For me, this is a very classic and natural bridal makeup look. It’s glowy and romantic and works beautifully in the daytime. So, if you’re a DIY bride looking for an easy and pretty wedding day makeup look than this tutorial is for you:
