Classic Holiday Makeup TutorialHappy Holidays, friends! I cannot believe we are so far into December already. I’m not going to lie to you – I’ve barely gotten any of my holiday shopping done. Terrible. Our recent move has really thrown me for a loop and pretty much my whole life is running behind schedule. Anyways, last weekend I went to my first holiday party and it inspired me to create a classic holiday makeup look – complete with a sparkly eye and festive red lip. YSL Gold Attraction Holiday Collection ReviewA number of products I used in today’s look are from the YSL Gold Attraction Holiday 2018 Collection and I wanted to share a slightly more in-depth review with you.
Multi-Use Makeup Palette Holiday Look 2018The first product I dove into was the YSL Multi-Use Makeup Palette. This palette contains 3 eyeshadows, 1 eyeliner, 2 blushes, and 1 highlighter. Overall, this palette is beautiful – the packaging is stunning, the glittery shadows apply beautifully, the icy blue eyeliner is a unique addition that I love, and the highlighter is absolutely stunning. The highlighter in this palette is particularly beautiful in opinion. It’s a cream-based highlighter that is a beautiful shimmery white-champagne tone with glitter. This is definitely a bolder highlight and will add a beautiful radiance to your makeup look. Where this palette falls short for me is in versatility and layout. Since this palette does not include any matte shadows, it is a palette you’d have to pair with another palette in order to create your look. If they added in 1-2 shadows that could be used in the crease and as a transition then I would find this palette to be a lot more well-rounded and usable. Now, I know it’s a holiday palette and therefore it’s a bit more of a “specialty” palette, but you aren’t just going to use this palette for a few weeks and toss it aside, which is why you want this palette to have some basic shadows to give more versatility to the palette. The blushes are both very pretty but due to the pan size, it’s challenging to pick up a proper amount of product. Instead, you pick up a concentrated amount that then deposits heavily in one spot on your cheek. It would be better for there to just be one blush in the palette that was the full size of the two pans.
Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick Holiday EditionYSL lipsticks are always super luxurious and creamy feeling. If you typically have dry lips you’ll love the formula of these lipsticks since they really do moisturize and conceal chapped looking lips. The shades in this year’s collection are a bold red, a deep rosy-mauve, and a bright pink-coral. They are all very beautiful.
Face Highlighter Holiday Look 2018This is my absolute favourite product in the collection. This highlighter adds a stunning glow to your skin that looks so natural and yet so beaming. The texture of this highlighter is like a super soft cream yet it doesn’t feel creamy or heavy on your skin once applied. This highlighter really melts into your skin and it just looks like you have the most beautiful lit-from-within glow.
Touche Éclat Gold Attraction Edition in Luminous IvoryIf you’ve used the Touche Éclat concealers then you already know that this is a heavy creamy concealer. Some people love this concealer for their undereyes, but I actually find it a little too heavy for under my eyes. Instead, I like to use it down the center of my face for a bit more coverage and for highlighting.
