Growing up I always remember hearing people say not to wear white if you had curves, and at first I bought into the notion.
Over the years though, after seeing crisp combinations of stripes or a brights paired with the clean white denim, I decided to throw the dinosaur-age rule out the window.
The last few years I’ve began to reach for my white denim just as much as my dark denim because I just love how white denim pairs with so many different pieces.
I think a big part of getting past those style “rules” is getting past the insecurities that are tied to them. For me it was that I had always been told that I had curvy hips, as a teen I hated it.
Every time someone mentioned them I would immediately clam-up and shy away from the situation – and gosh, wouldn’t white denim just make them look even bigger? I can officially say that I am well over that little insecurity, hips-schmips!
After a day at the office last week I decided to go down to the nearby park for a quick stroll before heading home.
Since rain was in the forecast that evening, I figured I would soak up the last few moments before the rain poured down.
I loved how seamlessly this look went from day at the office to stroll in the park.
