Thank you, La Vie En Rose for sending me these adorable swimsuits! I am seriously in love with them!
Summer is such a beautiful time of year here in Vancouver. Honestly, if you ever plan on visiting, I definitely recommend coming during the summer months.
This summer has really flown by for me. With our wedding coming up in just a few days (ahh!) it has felt like our summer has been breezing by with planning, and the adventure of starting our marriage.
That’s why recently we decided to take a few time outs to really enjoy the summer together. We had an amazing stay at the Fairmont Pacific Rim (seriously, that place is amazing!), and we spent a few hours soaking up the sun (in these ridiculously adorable swimsuits from La Vie En Rose – like seriously, I love them!) at Whytecliff Park.
I feel like occasionally, we all need a time out. Lately, I’ve been feeling creatively empty because I was overworking myself. Being a full-time social media coordinator and a full-time blogger is challenging, add to that planning a wedding and you just end up burning out. And honestly, I don’t want to feel burnt out at my wedding. This is a day we’ve been looking forward to for the last two years (well, really the last 8, but we just got engaged 2 ago) and I don’t want to crash at the first moment I’ve truly unplugged from the online world.
That mini vacation at the Fairmont (though it was through my blog) was so incredible for my mindset. And, going away for my bachelorette last weekend also helped me reset and calm down. It reminded me that I don’t always need to be so overly attached to my phone, email, and work.
One thing to know about me is I am a stress cadet. I hate disappointing people, and by fault – I often burn myself out and end up getting sick. It’s a bad cycle. And, it’s a cycle I really have tried and continue to want to break. It’s challenging though. If any of you have any blog or book recommendations on how to chill the heck down — please send them over!
So with all that being said, this weekend I am going full force for the wedding – but I still plan on relaxing a bit. We need to gather up our wedding boxes and get them packed and ready to go. But once that is done – it’s home and Netflix time. Ahh, I can’t wait for some chill time.
Remember, take a little time for you this weekend, too. Don’t let yourself burn out. Grab a swimsuit, head to the beach, and read a good book!
