Natural Everyday Makeup Look

Reading Time: 4 minutes

My daily makeup look always tends to be on the natural-side. I like to add a bit more colour to my look without ever appearing made-up. Especially during the fall and winter seasons, my skin seems to need a bit more colour to liven up my look since my skin can take on a pale ashy appearance.

When I think of fall beauty, my mind typically wanders to bold dark lips, and rich shadow palettes of eggplant purple, copper, and gold. But for me, that’s just not wearable every single day. Instead, I like to go with a look that’s a bit more reminiscent of the “no makeup” makeup.

 Natural Everyday Makeup Look Tutorial

PRODUCTS:

  • Vichy Matte BB Clear (I mix Light & Medium for my perfect shade)
  • Bare Minerals Mineral Veil
  • Hourglass Blush in Mood Exposure
  • UD Naked Basics Palette (colours used are: Venus, Foxy, W.O.S, Naked 2, Faint)
  • MAC Cosmetics Fluidline Eyeliner in Rich Ground
  • Maybelline Sensational Lash Mascara
  • UD Revolution Lipstick in Naked2

FACE:

To start, I apply Vichy’s Matte BB cream. This is a very light coverage BB cream which I quite like. I never wear medium or full coverage foundations since I have freckles and I like them to peak through. I mainly like to use foundation to add a bit more of a healthy colour to my skin.

For fall, I really love the look of matte skin which is exactly the finish Vichys BB cream provides. To set the BB cream, I then use Bare Minerals mineral veil. I love this mineral veil, and I actually have often just worn it alone to give my skin a more even and oil-free appearance.

To add a bit of rosiness to my look I turn to my Hourglass Blush in Mood Exposure. This blush is a really beautiful plum-toned blush. During these cooler months, I love to wear colours that are a bit deeper so colours and this plummy-pink blush is perfect for adding a bit more richness to my makeup look.

EYES:

I tend to keep my eyes pretty simple year round. My favourite palette to achieve a bright and warm eye look is the Urban Decay NakedBasics Palette. I use the two lighter colours (W.O.S is pink toned, and the other “Fox” is yellow toned) to prime my eyes and immediately brighten them.

I use the chocolate brown colour called “Faint” in the eye crease, and the softer light brown called “Naked 2” to blend it with the lighter lid colours. Venus is the frosted white shadow which I use the on my inner eye and brow bone area to really brighten up my eyes.

I wear eyeliner year round, but sometimes I find that black liner can look heavy on me especially during the fall and winter seasons when my skin can look quite fair. One eyeliner that I always have on hand is MACCosmetics Fluidline in Rich Ground.

This eyeliner is a copper toned brown liner with a metallic finish. Lastly, I never leave the house without adding on a touch of mascara. I have always been a fan of Maybelline mascaras as they are really inexpensive and provide a really dramatic lash look.

LIPS

To finish off this look I turn to one of my favourite lipsticks, Naked2 by Urban Decay. I love Urban Decay lipsticks because they are incredibly moisturizing. They have a slightly shiny finish to them which helps disguise chapped lips, which is something I struggle with during the fall and winter (in-fact I shared a Dry Lips Remedy here). This colour is a peach tone nude lipstick.

    Hi Bree!

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day 🙂 I have to say…I really try not to wear a lot of makeup because I hate the idea of my pores clogging up but it always looks so pretty when I see other people reviewing items! The blush that you used is just amazing..I love that color!!

Hey Jenn! I totally agree, I pretty much reserve face makeup (like BB creams, Foundations, and Mineral Veils) for when I need a bit more of a refreshed and professional look, like when I have meetings or something important going on at the office. I really like to let my skin breathe too!

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want to spend all of my spare time off grid, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and mountains — I would’ve told you that you were crazy... But here we are 🤷‍♀️😂🌲💛 #WhereLifeLeads
“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
