Over the last few weeks, I’ve noticed one major thing about my skin: It looks dull. Now, that’s never a word I want to use to describe my complexion. Instead, I’d like to use the words: glowing, smooth, soft, or radiant. But lately, the only words I have been using are dull, dry, and lifeless. It’s times like these that my skin requires a little boost, and that’s where Fresh Beauty comes in. Recently, I shared part 1. of my Fresh Beauty Skincare Review by how to binge mask, and what binge masking is. This week, I am diving into the masks and sharing my thoughts on each mask specifically. Fresh Beauty Skincare Review

Fresh Beauty has been one of my favourite skincare and beauty brands for years. The first products I ever tried from Fresh Beauty was their tinted lip balms, and after that, I was completely hooked.
After trying out their cosmetics I moved to their skincare products. The first masks in their skincare line I tried were the Rose Face Mask and Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask. These masks seriously blew me away. As someone with sensitive skin, it’s hard to find hydrating masks that won’t irritate my skin. While these masks are on the pricy side, I’ve found their results to more than worthwhile and that’s why I’ve been happy to purchase them time and time again. In addition, all Fresh Beauty skincare products are all free of any Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates which makes them rank even better in my books. Fresh Skincare Review: The Ultimate Mask Guide

Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask:

The Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask has been one of my “holy grail” masks for the last few years. It’s unique whipped texture is super velvety, soft, and refreshing feeling on your skin. This mask feels incredibly luxurious on your skin. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a great hydrating mask.

Skincare Tip: If you’re traveling, use the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask right at the beginning of your flight. This will help keep your skin hydrated and soft even in the dry airplane conditions.

Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask:

This mask is another great one, in particular for those who have large pores or blemish-prone skin. While it’s on your skin, it works to clean and purify in order to get rid of acne and shrink pores. I have always used clay-based masks to keep my skin clear, and this one, in particular, is so incredible feeling on the skin. Many clay masks leave skin feeling parched, but this mask is gentle enough that it won’t dehydrate your skin while it helps to clear it.

Skincare Tip: The Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask is known as Fresh Beauty’s “Triple Threat Mask” as it can be used as a deep cleanser, pore-purifying mask, as well as a spot treatment!

Rose Face Mask:

Another one of my all-time favorite masks, the Rose Face Mask is a skincare routine must-have in my opinion. It’s balancing mask so it won’t over-hydrate or dehydrate your skin. Instead, it’ll help calm your skin to give you a softer, smoother, more glowing complexion. If you watched my Binge Masking Tutorial then you likely know that this mask looks strange on, but is entirely worth it!

Skincare Tip: Enhance the effects of the Rose Face Mask by placing it into the fringe before you apply it. This cooled-down mask will help soothe your skin.

Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask:

I just began using this mask, and I can already tell you it’s going to be another favourite of mine. As someone who battles dry dull looking skin, this mask is a total game changer for me. It helps balance my skin while also making it appear so vibrant and glowing. If you feel like your skin is looking dull than you’ll seriously love Fresh Beauty’s Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask.

Skincare Tip: When you remove the Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask, use warm water to enhance this mask. The warm water helps boost the exfoliating effects of the natural juices in this mask!

Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask:

In the last year I’ve begun using overnight masks, and I’ve found them to be a real game changer for my skin. By using an overnight mask one weekly, I’ve found that my skin appears healthier and more smooth. This mask feels light and comfortable to wear during the night, yet is somehow super hydrating. When I first began using overnight masks, it bothered me how many felt tacky during the night. I would find when my face touched the pillow that my skin would stick to it (yuck!), but the Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask really seems to absorb into the skin and not leave that tacky or sticky residue. One thing I will say though is that I think this mask, in particular, is great for more mature skin types, or for those looking to only do an overnight treatment once every 2 weeks. While I love this mask, and the way it makes my skin look, using it too often did cause my skin to have a mini break out. Because it’s such an intensively hydrating mask, if used too often it can over-hydrate your skin. Since I am only 26, I think using this mask every other week is the best way to go, while my mom uses this mask 2-3 times weekly.

“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
