Well, I am back in Vancouver – and you know what that means: I am back to being freezing. After being in the blistering hot sun for the last week, I almost forgot just how brisk the fall air can feel. Whenever I am first home from vacation, I always struggle with getting back into the swing of dressing for the cold. It’s so strange that even after living here all my life, I still have not mastered the art of predicting the cold and layering up for it.
But there is one thing I know and it’s that this chilly weather means only one thing: we’ve entered the time of year that calls for cozy knit sweaters. Sweater weather is here, and I am bringing out all of my coziest knits to get me through these next few months, Thin layers, light jackets and scarves simply just won’t cut it anymore. Scroll through today and let’s talk fall outfits, style, cozy fashion and the pieces you need to grab to get through this chilly fall and winter!
When it’s cold outside there’s nothing more inviting than a cozy oversized knit sweaters. Heavy sweaters offer a comfort and warmth during a time when it’s cold, windy, and rainy out. It’s about this time of year that I begin to really live in all of my cozy favourites, like this turtleneck sweater from Lookbook Store.
During these cooler months I tend to say goodbye to all my lightweight and thin denim. It’s cold out, and I like to make sure that I am dressed for the weather head to toe. Denim with a bit of weight to them will keep your legs cozy even on the most blustery of days which is why I think finding a pair of quality jeans is essential tot your winter style.
Year-round, I love a good accessory. During the summer I love to wear bangles and layered necklaces, during the fall I begin to add in scarves, and now I am turning more and more to cozy hats. They say that we lose most of our heat from our head and our feet so those are two spots that I really like to keep warm during the fall and winter months. Hats with a balance of style and practicality are always a winning combination to me and so lately I’ve been looking more and more to floppy hats and knit beanies for a bit of chic warmth.
While I love suede boots, they are rarely rain-proof. For this reason, I usually stick to boots which are leather or are from brands which prioritize weather practicality in their boots. Whether I like it or not, every day I am walking to work and walking home – so having a pair of stylish boots that can afford a bit of comfort during these rainy days is a must. Cougar Boots pair practicality with style which makes them a perfect choice for gals on the go. My Connect Boots have become one of my easiest go-to’s these days as they wear so effortlessly and comfortably on our cold rainy days.
