How to Increase Your Blogs Traffic

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Looking for a few easy ways to improve your website traffic? Today I am sharing a few simple tips to help increase your blogs traffic!

How to Increase Your Blogs Traffic

1. Pinterest

Pinterest is my #1 source of traffic. Seriously, it is. I use Pinterest every single day now and honestly, it’s been a game-changer.

Try incorporating more DIY’s or “how to” posts. Write blog posts on sought-after information and create pinterest friendly pins to ensure your posts will be pinned & re-pinned.

If you’re not sure what those sorts of posts would be than just look at the things you’ve personally googled or searched Pinterest for.

2. Schedule Your Posts

Working full-time can affect how interesting your social media outlets are. I get it, you simply cannot be tweeting or posting on Facebook on your phone while at work.

Tools such as Later, Tweetdeck, and Hootsuite will allow you to keep your social media outlets active without actually being on them all the time.

I also like to use these tools during the times I notice a “traffic slump” like when I am on holidays.

3. Create Engaging Content

Make sure your content is so engaging that it makes readers want to come back for more each day. Building a loyal readership will help boost your blog’s traffic each day but the only way to do that is by creating great and engaging content that people want to read

4. Twitter Chats

Get involved with your blogger community by taking part in blog chat sessions on Twitter. Each Wednesday at 1:00 PM (PST) there is a chat on twitter for #bbloggers but there are also #FBLchats, #Fblogger chats, and surely many, many more. These chats always provide interesting & useful information on various topics relating to being a blogger. While you’re discussing these topics/ asking questions, you also build blogger relationships with fellow bloggers which in turn will boost your blog’s traffic and long-term loyal followers.

5. Guest Post On Other Blogs and Have Guests on Your Blog

One way to grow your reach is by guest posting on other blogs within your niche. Not only is this a great way to reach a new audience, but it’s also great for your blog’s SEO. In addition, you can invite other bloggers to post on your page. It benefits you because they’ll likely promote the post on their channels, and also it allows you to have new content without being the creator behind it. Plus, it helps their SEO so really it’s a win-win.  The main thing I should warn you about over guest posts though is do-links and allowing guest bloggers who have a hidden agenda to post on your blog. I receive a TON of spammy emails asking to guest post on my blog and the main reason is that they want to plug do-follow links into my page. You don’t want this. So, just be careful who you allow to post on your page.

6. Sign Your Blog Up to Bloglovin’

Since adding my blog to Bloglovin my pageviews have jumped, and it’s one of my top traffic sources.   Since this platform is being used by thousands & thousands of people worldwide to follow their favourite blogs so you must get your blog on there! It’s easy and requires little to no upkeep – so really, why not sign up?

7. Add Links Referring to Your Other Content Within Your Posts

Using links in your blog citing previous posts will help guide your readers to explore other parts of your blog. This will not only increase your page views but it’ll also build a more loyal readership as your readers get to know you & your blog. In addition, adding links back with keywords in your posts also helps your SEO. So, it’s really worthwhile to plug a few into your posts.

8. Find Great Keywords for Your Blog Posts

Learning how to use keywords will optimize your blog’s traffic. It can feel very complicated at first to understand keywords but once you study up your blog will be running like a charm. Here are a few resources to help you get started: The Best Keyword Tools for Bloggers How to use Google Keyword Planner

9. Comment and Connect with Your Blogging Community

By connecting to other bloggers and commenting on their posts you create relationships with other bloggers which in turn will increase your traffic. Take the time to read the other bloggers post thoroughly and comment with a genuine & engaged response to create relationships with them.

They are all great ideas, but are also very general. Most beauty and fashion bloggers are quite personal, and write in conversational manner. Therefore, they connect, as well as expand their popularity (more traffic) by personally connecting with each other. And in this case sincere, thoughtful comments add huge value.

If the approach is organic traffic though, I feel that picking the right keywords, especially exact-match URL is essential. I actually own more blogs than you see on my profile – some of them purely for SEO research purposes – and the exact URL's get the MOST traction from ALL search engines.

Again, thanks for the tips, and hopefully my (long) comment added some value.

Totally see your point! I definitely think writing in a personal tone helps increase viewership, I noted that in the content point! Mostly these are just sources many bloggers don't use/ don't know how to use to their advantage. Using Pinterest, twitter chats and later bro for example can be really helpful tools and only did I recently realize how useful Pinterest, as for laterbro & twitter chats I've just noticed many bloggers are unaware of these little tools.
I don't necessary think these tips are general but I guess someone who is already aware of them would maybe think that?

It's great to do, scheduling tweets keeps you present on twitter when you cannot be – like when you're at work! I try to schedule a few for the days I work =)

Great tips! I always love reading other bloggers' tips and what works for them. I've attributed several big spikes in traffic to certain outfits of mine that I've pinned, which is super flattering at the same time! haha. I absolutely love Bloglovin for the fact that it keeps your blog consistently in others' feeds but also makes it so much easier to network with other bloggers. AND finally, I'm planning to start using a platform to schedule blog and fashion-related tweets! I've never heard of the one you mentioned, but I believe both TweetDeck and Hoote Suite do the same thing.
    Great, interesting post!

Thanks for the tips! I've tried making interesting pictures for the top of my posts that would be pinterest worthy but it can be so time consuming and I didn't see much of a difference. Maybe my couple of attempts weren't engaging enough?

I actually found your blog because of Pinterest just now and I'm so glad that I did! It's fabulous! Do you mind if I add you to the lovely links section of my blog?

Hi there, Kara! Awe thank you so much! I am so glad you like my blog & these traffic tips. Sometimes the pinterest images/ interest can just take some time. Do you have a large pinterest following? If not, then try building it by posting on it daily + repinning images. The larger your following the more effective your own pins will be!
Absolutely feel free to add me to your link list, it would actually be such an honour for me if you did so!

“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
