It’s the truth, the summer life really is the good life. While fall, winter, and spring all have their charm – there’s something about summer that just brings me so much joy and happiness. It’s always a time of change and motivation for me. I always feel more excited to try new things, to get outdoors, and to explore beautiful BC during these hot and sunny days; and I truly have been getting out to hike, walk the sea wall, visit my friends and family. I already feel like I can look back on this summer and feel a sense of joy that I truly did all the things I had hoped to do.
One thing that I haven’t done in a while, but I enjoy so much is getting out to enjoy a wine tour. I’ve always found wine tours so much fun – you meet new people & discover new delicious local wineries you didn’t know existed previously. Since we are heading out of town next weekend (for a wedding – exciting), Jer and I thought that rather than head out of town on the BC Day long weekend to enjoy a wine tour we’d instead make up our own Winery / Brewery Crawl ourselves.
After we had decided we would stay home and just enjoy what our beautiful city has to offer, we opted to round up a few of our best friends. And while I made multiple calls out to friends, Jer mapped out where we’d be heading off to that night. While we went to a few places, there was one place that has remained one of our favourites.
We actually discovered the Vancouver Urban Winery / Postmark Brewery / Belgard Kitchen (it’s one location with three businesses!) about a year ago and fell in love with the rustic beauty of it. The eclectic furniture, heavy wooden wine barrels, and tall doorways all lend to it’s unique charm; meanwhile the service, food, and drink options turn this spot into one you can’t help but want to frequent. If you’re ever in the area, I definitely recommend you head to the Belgard Kitchen for a delicious brunch, and back that evening for a night of socializing, appies, and delicious wine + craft beer at Vancouver Urban Winery / Postmark Brewery.
Since our summer has been so bright, hot, and sunny (and even the rainy days have been warm and balmy) I decided it was a great opportunity to wear one of my favourite pairings – this burnt orange crop and high waist leopard shorts. While you likely already know how much I adore high waisted pieces, what I haven’t shared much of is my complete obsession with cropped shirts. Cropped tanks & t-shirts have become some of my go-to pieces this summer. I love how they effortlessly pair with high waisted jeans, skirts, and shorts and how they keep you feeling cool on the warmest of summer days.
