Lately, we’ve been having a rain spell here in Vancouver.
Usually, I wouldn’t mind this. I actually really love the rain, and I find it calming – but when you have events to go to, brunches to be at, or photos to take – it can be a real pain! Especially when you typically walk everywhere. So, I think it’s safe to say at this point that I am over the rain and dreaming of warmer and sunnier days.
Since the rain and cold doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast though, I have been trying to make these chilly days a bit more fun by getting more creative with my style. And that’s where Over The Knee boots come in.
My New Obsession: Over the Knee Boots!
There’s no denying the fact that over the last year over-the-knee boots have become a style staple.
It seems like the fashion world has gone from one extreme to the other – ankle boots to thigh highs. Not that I’m complaining though because I absolutely adore this trend.
If you have followed my blog for a while then you’ve probably read this before, but my style always has an element of practicality to it. I don’t believe in the whole “pain is beauty” or that you need to sacrifice comfort for style. I mean seriously, why would anyone do that?
The thing I love most about OTK boots is how practical they are warmth-wise. Since they are covering more surface area, you’re giving yourself an extra layer of warmth that you wouldn’t get with ankle boots. So with that, OTK boots get my stamp of approval. (Though, I don’t recommend suede for rainy days! Go with leather boots and use a protective coating instead)
