I’ll be honest – I’m not a very sporty person. I love fitness & health-related activities. But throw me onto a volleyball or soccer team and watch me run the other way. Growing up I always admired people who worked well on these sorts of teams, but when it came to me actually being on them I would go into a total panic. In-fact, even “sports day” in elementary school gave me anxiety. My enjoyment in exercise comes more from sports that I can enjoy without the pressure of a team – like running, swimming, or hiking.
While wearing athletic tights may be considered a fashion no-no, there’s no denying that the most comfortable apparel to wear are our fitness clothing. I mean honestly, on my lazy days spent watching an entire TV series (like my recently binge day on the third season of Orange is the New Black) I hang out in my comfy yoga pants all day. But those comfy pants should be left to lazy days spent at home, or for exercise. But recently I spotted these up-scale Forever 21 jogger pants and was immediately excited to bring athletica comfort + daily style together.
The Side Stripe: The stripe along the side of these pants plays into the classic athetlica pant we all once wore to gym class. But, the blush tone really elevates the look of these pants to create a more elegant overall appearance.
Slim Fit: While the blush stripe is elegant, the slimmer fitting jogger pant also really creates a more sophisticated look. Rather than having a really loose & ill-fitted jogger pant which hangs over your body, look for one that just glides over to appear more streamlined. Pair them with heels: In my opinion, heels always instantly elevate an outfit to a more stylish level. If you feel like your look needs a little something then try a pair of heels! These cage heels really make this look edgier.
Highwaist + Crop Top: While high-waist pants also look beautiful with blouses, for an evening look try pairing your high waist joggers with a crop top for an edgier look. I paired my joggers with a ribbed crop top to further play into the athletic aspect of this look – and I kind of love it!
