I think it’s official, I am over winter. There’s always a point during the winter where I think that I actually enjoy it, and then suddenly Christmas passes and I am just ready for it to be blue skies and sunshine again. I am a total fare-weather friend to winter.
It really dawned on me just how much I miss the spring and summer when I spotted this pretty floral light-weight scarf at Charming Charlie. I love these sorts of purple and magenta floral prints during the warmer months; and even more so, I adore layering it over a light and refreshing colour palette of whites and creams. I decided to bring my favourite spring and summer combination of floral / white / and cream into winter because honestly, I am just missing the bright colourful vibrancy of spring and summer!
There’s an ongoing joke in my group of friends about my frailty – I go outside, I get cold, and then I catch a cold. I think that’s probably what makes me so… unappreciative of these cool winter months. On the days that I feel particularly affected by the cold weather, I like to turn to cozy knits like this super thick and warm one from Material Girl. I received this at Christmas and since then it’s been one of my most worn pieces; I love light oatmeal tones and find they pair beautifully with crisp whites, and even better with rich vibrant tones like this floral scarf.
