Not sure how to adapt your wardrobe for fall? Today, I am sharing a few easy ways to on How to Transition Your Wardrobe into Fall.
While Fall is still a few weeks away, it kind of already feels like it’s here. It’s still hot out, but with the smoke clouding Vancouver – it feels like our usual bright, sunny, beautiful Vancouver summer is long gone.
I know it sounds weird, but I am honestly looking forward to cooler, rainier weather so that we can finally say goodbye to all the fires and smoke in BC.
How to Transition Your Wardrobe into Fall
Fall Ready Dresses
When I begin packing away my summer clothes, I always like to select a few pieces that I feel will be able to transition nicely into my fall wardrobe.
This striped dress, for example, is one that I wore a lot throughout August. It was lightweight and comfortable to wear and I love pairing it with strappy sandals.
But, the more I wore it out, the more I realized it would also be an excellent dress for fall.
The print is simple and not summery (ie. no palm print, etc – it’s just simple stripes!), the long-sleeves and longer hemline lend itself to being a bit warmer.
It’s dresses like this one that are great for year-round wear.
Rock a pair of boots
Rather than sporting my favourite pair of strappy sandals (so sad to say goodbye to them – wah!), I will be pairing my favourite dresses with boots.
This dress works perfectly with a pair of ankle boots, but a shorter hemmed dress would look great with over the knee or to-the-knee boots, too.
Add on a Hat
One of my favourite fall style staples is hats. During the fall, I pretty much live in floppy hats. I love how they add something unique to a look.
If you’re like me and pretty live in all-black outfits during the fall and winter, then you may already know that hats are a great way to add a touch of colour to an outfit.
Plus, they add a level of warmth to an outfit that I’m all about.
Add on Cozy Layers
As we tip-toe towards fall, I keep having to remind myself that soon I’ll be having to break out my cozy knits and jackets.
Those pieces are truly the ones that take a look from summer to fall, and they are the most essential items to have in your wardrobe.
