The very first time I straightened my hair I was 12. It was right before Grade 7 class photos, and I decided that I didn’t want to sport my curly hair in the photo – I wanted to find out what it was like to have smooth sleek straight hair.
Back then, I didn’t have a straightening iron, I simply just had an iron (yep – like the ones you use to de-wrinkle your clothes!) and I laid down on the bed as my mum straightened out my hair. And just like that, I was hooked.
Since then, the clothing iron has been removed from the beauty bin – and replaced with new proper straightening tools, like Irresistible Me Ceramic Flat Iron.
The truth is, I straighten parts of my hair every single day. While I try to avoid using heat tools on my entire head of hair, I do always need to touch up the front pieces / bangs before heading to work. For this reason, it’s important that the straighteners I use are great quality, and that the temperature is adjustable.

My first impression of this 1″ heat plate straightener was that it was very light. My previous straightener was quite heavy, so it felt odd using a heat tool that was so light and air-weight. I then was surprised to find that the straightener heated up in an instant. Typically, I have had to wait a minute or so for my straighteners to get to the temperature I need to straighten my hair, but the Irresistible Me Ceramic Flat Iron heated up within moments.
One thing I particularly liked about this straightener was that when I curled my hair, I found that if I placed my fingers on the outside area near the flat iron part that it was still quite cool and I didn’t feel any heat on my fingertips.
Many times I have burnt my fingers from curling my hair using a straightener. Typically I find the outside of the wand gets so hot that I end up playing hot potato as I attempt to style my hair. The fact that the Irresistible Me Ceramic Flat Iron contained the heat to the irons really impressed me, and I was thrilled to finally be able to style my hair without ending up with any blisters or red marks!
