IT Cosmetics CC Cream Review

If you’ve been following my blog for some time, specifically my beauty related posts, then you likely already know how picky I am when it comes to foundations. The truth is, I rarely love a foundation. So, when this IT Cosmetics CC SPF 50 cream showed up in the mail I was half excited and half nervous to try it out.

Coverage

This CC Cream claims to be a full-coverage corrective foundation. While it may be buildable to a full-coverage foundation, I found it to be more of a medium coverage and I quite liked that. Since I have freckles, I tend to like lighter coverage foundations, cc creams, and bb creams. When my freckles suddenly vanish under a layer of foundation, I feel completely unlike myself, so I typically steer clear of any base makeup that claims to be “full coverage”.

This CC cream still allowed my freckles to peek through but corrected a majority of the redness and uneven spots in my skin tone.

Texture

When I first pumped the product onto my hand, I immediately noticed that the texture was quite thick and creamy, which is very unlike the thin watery texture of one of my favourite foundations, the Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Flawless Serum Foundation.  I thought this would be an issue for me since thicker products usually mean that they feel heavier on your skin, but I actually found that once blended out, this foundation felt very light on my skin. I was very impressed.

Application

When I first pumped the product onto my hand, I used 2.5 pumps and then dotted it around my face. To build up the product further, I applied one small pump to each section and then buffed it out with my brush. Since the product is thicker and more creamy, it does take time to buff out. But, once it is in place it feels very light weight and comfortable on the skin.

Result

This foundation really evened out my skin tone without hiding the parts of my skin that I like. Initially, I was concerned it would feel heavy, but throughout the day I truly forgot it was there and I am really happy with how comfortable it is on the skin.

The finish initially is quite shiny and it does require a setting powder to take away the “oily” look. I simply used the Laura Mercier setting powder to take away the shine, and I found that helped it set for the rest of the day.

The only issue I found throughout the day was that it did cling to my drier spots. After approx. 4 hours of wearing the foundation I began to notice those dry spots more so. Over the last few weeks, my skin has been extremely off balance though, so I know normally this wouldn’t be the case for me. With that being said though, I would not recommend this foundation to those who struggle with dry skin, instead, I would recommend this to those who have combination/normal/or oily skin types.

At about 4:30 PM I also started to notice the foundation fade on my chin and the bridge of my nose (though, that was from my glasses). This was after approx. 6 hours of wear though so fading is normal at this point, and it wasn’t obvious fading.

At 6:00 PM I decided to add a touch more of the CC cream to my nose and chin since I was going to an event that night, and I followed up with my setting spray to add in a bit more hydration. This helped soften those dry-spots, but at 10 PM when I did my final check in those dry spots had poked through again, but there was no more fading at this point. I would consider this product as long-wearing.

Cost: $48.99

At nearly $50, this is definitely what I would consider a “luxury” foundation. It’s expensive, but it’s also a really great foundation.

I love this CC cream!! Although I havent re-purchased it yet because I’m using Charlotte Tillbury now, I think this is a great foundation that makes your skin look beautiful and natural!

Thank you for your review. I’m always looking for the perfect foundation. I have combination skin with hormonal imbalances flaring up at odd times so it is very hard to find something that I can apply at any time. I do like the medium coverage to let peeks of our selves come through.

I was curious about this CC cream. Every brand has such difference coverage its a gamble. I have found many to lead to oiliness. This one sounds worth a try. Thanks

Yes, it does seem pretty pricy for a CC cream, but I’m glad you deem it worth it!

Yeah it’s on the expensive side for sure but it did last all day, and it looked really skin-like. The only issue was it clinging to drier spots, so for those who struggle with dry skin consistently, this product may be a miss!
