Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Kaleidoscope Dream Eyeshadow Palette

In my Urban Decay X Kristen Leanne Collection Review on Youtube, the Kaleidoscope Dream Palette is the palette I used to create my rainbow eye makeup. Right off the bat, I was super impressed with how bright and pigmented the shadows were. Typically blue and purple shadows are quite difficult to formulate and often they are patchy and difficult to blend, but the blue and purple shadows in this palette apply and blend like a dream. This palette is filled with vibrant colourful shadows and is excellent for creating bold makeup looks. There are 11 shadows in this palette (one pan is split between 2 different shadows – LEO + BRIXTON):

Shadow Shades:

SPITFIRE: Is a bright fuschia pink with a  purple shift. STAY GOLD: Bright yellow gold. TAJIN: Bright orange matte. LCW: Sparkly metallic teal blue. TRM: Metallic deep navy blue – looks quite a bit lighter when applied (more teal) – see in my Youtube video. LEO: Off-white highlight shade with a greeny-blue shift. BRIXTON: White based highlight with an icy blue shift. LIME TIME: Bright metallic limey-green. 13TH FLOOR: Black matte shadow. DYE: Deep violet metallic. CORONA: Bronze/copper metallic shade with a gold. I seriously loved this palette. The shadows are all extremely buttery. They are easy to work with, and the colours in this palette are all very unique. I am really impressed by this palette. Cost: $50 CAD.

Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Daydream Eyeshadow Palette Review

The second eyeshadow palette is the Daydream Eyeshadow palette. This palette is compiled with 5 matte neutral shades. This is the perfect “every day” palette, and actually works perfectly with the Kaleidoscope Palette if you want to create a simple look with a pop of colour. This palette is one that I would consider an easy “go to” palette. The shadows are again very buttery and they blend easily. While the Kaleidoscope palette really wowed me, I think this palette is a bit more practical for every day looks. I’ve found myself reaching for the Daydream palette more than the Kaleidoscope palette just because I tend to wear more natural and simple looks day to day. LUCY: Is a creamy ivory matte. DAYDREAM: soft sandy nude matte. 12/12: A peach matte. SUBSCRIBE: A deep nude-tan matte. EIGHT: A warm chocolatey matte brown. Cost: $26 CAD   Kristen Leanne X Urban Decay Collection Review Kristen Leanne X Urban Decay Collection Review

Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Beauty Beam Highlighter Trio Review

The highlighter to me is a must purchase product. This highlight shades in this trio are so beautiful, and they apply like a dream. Like the shadow palette, the texture of the highlight is extremely buttery and soft. The Beauty Beam highlighter trio impressed me by how versatile it was. You could easily apply a small amount to achieve a naturally radiant look, or you could build the highlight up for a beaming highlight. Soft rose-gold pearl: The first shade in the trio is described by Urban Decay as a soft rose-gold which is somewhat accurate. I do feel like it has a warm golden bronze to it, and it would be a beautiful highlight for deeper skin tones. Since I am so fair, this highlight shade doesn’t totally work for me, but I’ve liked using it on my collar bone and shoulders. I am planning to take this palette on my trip to Sayulita (woo! Only two days away!) so hopefully I’ll get a tan (and not a burn for once) and will be able to rock this highlight shade. White-gold pearl: This highlight is described as a white-gold pearl which I would say is totally accurate. This highlight is almost what I would consider a light champagne sort of tone, and it is so beautiful. I’ve been wearing this shade pretty much every day since I received the palette and I am obsessed with it. Warm golden pearl: This third shade in the highlight trio is described as a warm golden pearl which is sort of accurate. To me, this looks like it’s going to be somewhat rose-toned in the pan but then once it’s applied it’s more of that golden champagne tone. I’m also pretty in love with this shade. I particularly like mixing this and the white-gold one together. Cost: $45.00CAD

UD x Kristen Leanne Vice Lipstick in Bun Bun and Cloud9

Bun Bun is a beautiful warm-toned nude lipstick in Urban Decays Comfort Matte finish. This is one of the products that I am most obsessed with and excited to wear as I know it’s going to be one of my go-to items. It almost has a warm dusty-rose tone to it, rather than just being a beige nude, which makes it super wearable and pretty. Cloud9 is a bold ultra-violet lipstick (also in their Comfort Matte finish) that is perfect for those who are looking for that bright punch of colour. This colour is also absolutely stunning, but not one I would consider a go-to. Instead it’s for when you want that fun pop of colour with your makeup look. Cost: $22.00 CAD See my full Kristen Leanne X Urban Decay Collection review and rainbow eye makeup tutorial on Youtube!

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want to spend all of my spare time off grid, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and mountains — I would’ve told you that you were crazy... But here we are 🤷‍♀️😂🌲💛 #WhereLifeLeads
“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
