Back in high school and college I believe that Friday nights were dedicated to friends, fun and staying up way past my bedtime- fast forward a few years, and boy how things have changed! Friday nights nowadays are dedicated to movies, pajamas and oversized cups of tea. Jer started a little joke a while back about becoming a certain age and changing your usual way of doing something, such as “what is the age that you…start ordering salad at a restaurant, saying 10PM is your bedtime, or decide against sleeping over at a friends because of post-couch-snooze back pain “. Well, apparently I am at the age that Friday nights are no longer all about staying up til 4AM, I’m also apparently at the age when I order brussel sprouts at a restaurant – but that’s another story.

Recently though I broke my tradition of movies+pajamas+tea and instead opted to see a friend of mine who was in town for a few days.  Since I couldn’t be in my favourite comfy cozies, I decided to break out my new favourite (and wonderfully comfortable) Bootlegger boyfriend jeans, a casually pretty camisole and my new utility jacket. It was a great night, though funnily enough we still made it to sleep by 11PM.
P.S….
I recently was invited to share a few snaps of my transitional fall style and fall favourites on the Bootlegger website. As such avid fan of Bootlegger clothing I couldn’t pass up the exciting opportunity to work along one of my favourite brands and do what I love best – style, style, style.
If you haven’t yet, come see my three fall-proof looks and all my fall ready style picks on Bootlegger!

Haha, I've been at that Friday night stage since college. I'm such a boring person 😉
Loving the outfit, sounds like a lot of fun even though you still went to bed "early" Ha ha. Except 11 is late for me.

I'm definitely in the habit of changing into pjs the moment the sun goes down, but it's good to break the habit and go out with friends once in a while too. Love your lace cammi, it's so pretty.

Haha, every 5 years you look back and see tremendous changes in your life, but there's always something that stays. I'm kinda stuck in the past and combine it with the future. Friday nights are all about the movies and cups of tea…. but still until 4 am 😛 if I manage to stay awake hihi.

Congrats on your feature Bree, proud of you! 🙂

    Kisses,
    Lucia

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want to spend all of my spare time off grid, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and mountains — I would’ve told you that you were crazy... But here we are 🤷‍♀️😂🌲💛 #WhereLifeLeads
“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
