Recently my boyfriend was reading over one of my posts (the lise watier eyeliner review post to be exact) and he turned to me and asked “what exactly does HG stand for?” and so I told him, “It means Holy Grail…like an item I totally adore & will buy over and over again” .
He ended up asking me if I had a lot of these “HG” items and that question sparked an idea! I don’t have oodles and oodles of HG items but I do have a few and I am excited to share my top Holy Grail Beauty Products with you all today.

Mega Plush Mascara by Maybelline:
I am an admitted mascara-addict. I love long thick lashes so I am constantly changing & trying new mascaras but once I started trying out Maybelline’s mascaras I was hooked.
Originally I used Falsies Mascara by Maybelline and completely adored it. When one of my friends saw me using it she said “no no no! if you like that one you have to try the mega plush, it’s way better” and she was right.
I am totally hooked on this mascara. I still like to try different types, and soon will be trying the rocket lash by Maybelline, but this mascara will be a constant in my beauty bag.
Lise Watier Eyeliner:
This eyeliner first came about in my life when I was about 19/20 years old and I was sick of liquid mascaras that took forever to dry, would smudge and wear off throughout the day.
I had nearly written off liquid liner for good when a fabulous sales girl at Shoppers Drug Mart told me about Lise Watier’s Liquid Liner.
I tried it out on my hand and was super impressed by the easy precision & the richness of its black colour.
I wore the swatch on my hand for a few hours to see how it would wear over time and I was again very impressed by how it stayed on.
When I went back I asked her a few questions about it mainly curious to if it was waterproof (because I hate waterproof products on my skin/eyelashes) and she said no.
So I decided to pick myself up my first Lise Watier liquid eyeliner and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Naked Basics Palette:
I know this palette may seem boring to some, but to me it’s the absolute perfect basic palette.
It has all the colours one would want for a soft natural look and also can achieve richer & more dramatic looks when built up.
I have been so impressed by this palette and the quality of the shadows that I’ve seriously considered purchasing another one of these palettes just as a back-up.
This is also a palette I would take traveling with me because it has a compact case and includes high-quality and versatile shadows.

Hoola Bronzer by Benefit:
During the summertime, we all want a bit of a glow, but for a pale freckle-faced gal like me achieving that glowing tan can mean a lot of time spent in the sun and some serious long term skin damage.
After years of chasing that perfect glow in the sun, I finally realized that what I needed to do was find a bronzer for myself to mimic a subtle summertime tan and I found just that.
I will also say that I have been using a fake tanner as well as catching some rays while running outside, but to deepen that tan slightly I’ve been using Benefits Hoola Bronzer.
Even prior to using my tanner/the weather getting better I was using this bronzer to give a more lively look to my face.
I’ve found this bronzer to be the perfect colour as it’s not orange or shimmery at all and it sits very slightly on my skin. The biggest downfall of this product is the high price.
Albatross by NARS:
I received this highlighter from my boyfriend in celebration of The Urban Umbrella reaching 1000 followers, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I wear this highlighter almost every day to give a bit of a highlight to my cheekbones, collarbone and eyebrow bone and I’ve adored its slight golden sheen.
It’s a beautiful golden-toned highlighter and I can see it looking really gorgeous on all skin tones.

MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Please Me
This lip colour has become one that I turn to almost daily to add a cute pop of colour to my makeup looks.
During the summer/spring months I tend to wear bronzy-glowy looks paired with a matte lip.
I find that making the skin look dewy + bronzed as well as having a glossy lip can look a bit too shiny on me so I tone down the look with the matte lipstick, like MAC’s Lipstick in Please Me.
Fresh Beauty Sugar Lip Treatment
This treatment really is the best for dry chapped lips. My lips used to get so chapped they would crack (yuck!) but since using this treatment my lips rarely ever get chapped to that degree.

They all are great products indeed! I used the mascara by Maybelline and it is excellent! So curious to try the other stuff! Kisses! xo
It really is great! Maybelline's mascara's always seem so high end.
I love the sugar lips brand. It is expensive but so moisturizing!
I have also tried the baby lips – a good less expensive option!
The MAC lipstick is great too. I havent tried the other items but the bronzer looks very tempting!
It is pricey but it's great, totally worth it my opinion. The bronzer is amazing – already hit pan on it though =(
I LOVE sugar lips! I agree with Allie about the price, and about how it's worth it! I love the rose tinted one, too- an extra subtle bit of color 🙂
The price is a bit much I agree but I totally need it ahha – my lips get CRAZY dry, yuck! I have the Rose & Plum and I love them both – I totally want to get them all though haha!
I reaaally like the babylips by maybelline! 🙂

Love this – HG! I use that mascara, too! It stays on and it doesn't flake at all!
It's fabulous, lasts all day! x
Everyone says that mascara is amazing.
And I've tried the Fres Sugar lipstick, it's soo good.

You must try the naked palette, it's fab! <3
These are great products! I love babylips and the naked pallete! It's the best for neutral eye shadows!
I agree – the naked basics palette is simply amazing for neutral eye looks!
I don't know about the Mega push mascara, it always makes my eyelashes so chunky and short. But I think I'm going to try out the eye liner you mentioned 🙂
