For years now, NARS has been one of my favourite and go-to cosmetic brands. I feel that they are a brand you can almost always rely on for having quality products that tick off all the boxes on your beauty needs. NARS Spring 2017 Collection is filled with bright shades of aqua and violet as well as softer pinks and nude tones.  It is a truly “springy” looking collection that will brighten and freshen up your makeup game this coming spring. vancouver style blog, vancouver fashion blog, vancouver blog, vancouver fashion bloggers, best vancouver fashion blog, fashion blog, vancouver style blogger, vancouver style bloggers, vancouver lifestyle blog, vancouver travel blog, canadian fashion blog, canadian style blog, canadian travel blog, popular fashion blog, popular style blog, NARS Cosmetics, NARS Spring 2017 Review, NARS Siros Reivew, NARS Usbek Review, NARS Bumpy Ride Review

NARS Spring 2017 Review

Usbek
Usbek is a Velvet Shadow stick in a deep eggplant purple. This shadow stick easily glides over your eyes to create a bold and intense look. Once applied the shadow has a slight pearly-metallic finish to it. Usbek is a very long-wearing eyeshadow and it is crease resistant. The one downfall with this shadow is that when you blend it out with a brush it does become patchy.
Siros
Siros is a stunning warm-toned golden copper eyeshadow stick. Like Usbek, this shadow easily glides over your eyes, but since this colour is so soft it creates a much more natural and wearable finish. This colour became my quick go-to whilst on holiday as it was perfect for both day, beach, and night looks. This shadow stick is very long-wearing and I didn’t find it creased at all. It does not become patchy once blended.
Bumpy-Ride
The blush I tried from this collection is Bumpy-Ride. Bumpy-Ride is described on the NARs website as a “Shimmering Candy Pink” but I would describe this colour a more peachy once applied than a pink. It’s been described to have a golden shimmer in it, and while I would say it has a sheen to it, I would not say that it has a strong golden tone to it. In the pan, this colour looks very bright and intimidating but it actually applies very softly. It is a very wearable and long-lasting blush that is perfect for spring. “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
