Peach & Lily Award Series: My Favourites

A few weeks ago, Peach & Lily sent me a box full of their award-winning skincare and beauty products to try out. If you know me, you know that I love skincare. In the last couple years, I’ve really committed myself to having a routine and sticking to it. A few months ago (wait – was it a year ago?) I posted a video trying out a bunch of different Korean beauty brands from Peach & Lily and I was such a fan of so many of the products. That’s why when they reached out to me recently to try out more of their skincare I was immediately excited to test and try out more of their brands. And, today I am super excited to be sharing a few of my favourites with you!

Peach Slices Citrus-Honey Aqua Glow Hydrating Gel Moisturizer

What I adore so much about this moisturizer is how light-weight it is. It’s a gel moisturizer so when it applies it also blends out into a water-like formula. It dries down quickly so that you don’t have to deal with any stickiness or tackiness. I’ve really loved using this product in the mornings before I apply my makeup – almost using it like a primer. I also adore the smell of the Peach Slices Citrus-Honey Aqua Glow Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. It smells of sweet citrus and honey. The scent fades after a few minutes, but initially, I love how refreshing and yummy it smells on my skin. (Honestly, I wish they created a perfume with this scent because I love it so much!) Cost: $11.99 Peach & Lily Award Series: My Favourites

Femmue Gypsy Rose Calming Mask

The Femmue Gypsy Rose Calming Mask is probably my favourite product out of all the products Peach and Lily sent me – which is saying something because I actually really liked each and every product in their kit. This mask though is so incredibly refreshing and gentle on your skin. I have sensitive skin and sometimes clay-based masks can really dry out my skin and leave it feeling really irritated and striped, but this mask is so gentle that it honestly just leaves it feeling clean, soft, and smooth. Additionally, I love that this mask is a pretty rosy-pink. I know it’s a silly thing to adore about a mask, but I still do! Cost: $38.00 Peach & Lily Award Series: My Favourites

Peach & Lily Award Series: My FavouritesShangpree Gold Black Pearl Eye Mask

I’m always a sucker for a good eye mask. If there’s one part of my face that worries me (hello, crows feet!), it’s my eyes. I have noticed wrinkles popping up on my eyes and I’m not likin’ it. So, products that are designed specifically for my eyes like the Shangpree Gold Black Pearl Eye Mask are typically always a hit with me. I love that the that Shangpree Gold Black Pearl Eye Masks add a boost of hydration, fight the signs of aging, and rejuvenate the skin around my eyes. I’ve been super impressed with these and will definitely be repurchasing. Also, did I mention that these eye-masks are also totally Instagram-worthy? They are black with golden sparkles – I mean…. they’re adorable. Cost: $60.00 Peach & Lily Award Series: My Favourites

VOLUFILINE15 Eye Essence

The VOLUFILINE15 Eye Essence is a gel formula eye cream that feels instantly hydrating and refreshing. This eye gel is super lightweight and I’ve found that I really like applying in the mornings to lightly hydrate the skin around my eyes before applying my makeup. On the Peach & Lily website they actually make reference to using it before applying your makeup as an eye primer. While this gel is primarily a skincare treatment, they noted it as a useful product to use to prolong the look of your foundation and concealer. This is completely accurate, I’ve found its made my concealer look smoother and last longer. Cost: $70.00

May Coop Raw Sauce Hydrating-Nourishing Essence

First off, the packaging of the May Coop Raw Sauce Hydrating-Nourishing Essence is adorable. I know that’s not technically a reason to “love” a product – but it’s what first caught my eye about this product. It was one of the first products I tried because of this, and honestly, I’ve been so impressed with it. The May Coop Raw Sauce Hydrating-Nourishing Essence comes in a wood-printed box, and then is wrapped in a cloth pouch. The actual bottle is heavy glass and the lid again has the wood-print. Simply put: the packaging is beautiful. The essence itself is a super gentle toner. It gives such a great boost of hydration to your skin which is great for my dry-prone skin. This essence quickly absorbs into your skin and doesn’t leave it feeling sticky or tacky. This essence is made with 93% maple tree sap, skin-nourishing fructan powder (eco-cert certified), and Asian herbal and fruit extracts. Cost: $43.00 Peach & Lily Award Series: My Favourites

The last item I have really been enjoying is the Sheet Mask Set which comes with 3 sheet masks:
  • Good Skin Day: Drench-Nourish
  • Chubby Cheeks: Lift + Plump

Since getting this set I’ve used the Good Skin Day: Drench-Nourish and Reset Button: Soothe+Restore and absolutely love them. I am excited to try Good Skin Day: Drench-Nourish mask. Cost: $15.00

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want to spend all of my spare time off grid, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and mountains — I would’ve told you that you were crazy... But here we are 🤷‍♀️😂🌲💛 #WhereLifeLeads
“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
