I’m a glasses wearer. I wear them all day, everyday so that I don’t bump into walls, fall over edges and mistake people for people I know. Okay, that was a bit exaggerated (except for the mistaking people part, I’ve definitely done that before…) but seriously, I wear glasses every single day and you likely don’t even know that I wear glasses. The reason for this is because a few months ago I foolishly dropped my glasses and scuffed them up pretty badly; turning my beloved “geek chic” frames into a scuffed up mess that’s definitely not photo-ready. On top of them looking absolutely terrible, I can barely see out of them through the scuffs and scrapes.
When Polette contacted me at the beginning of November offering a pair of prescription glasses for review I immediately jumped at the opportunity. Aside from desperately needing new glasses, I also loved the eyeglasses and sunglasses selection available on Polette.
Admittedly I struggled to come to a decision on whether to go for a frame that was less practical but a little more fun (like these ones!), or one that I would wear everyday and would match everything. Practicality won out as I needed a pair to replace my usual ones. When they arrived a month later though I realized that their perfect practicality was matched with a chic simplistic elegance, a look I can’t help but love (really who doesn’t?). The only issue I found at all with Polette was that the shipment did take quite a bit of time, so if you’re wanting your glasses to arrive ASAP you may want to pay for shipping. I also believe the shipment was delayed in part of the holiday season. I know it’s the busiest time of the year and often that can slow down package and parcel delivery.
If you’re a glasses wearer as well, you likely already know of the hefty costs associated with purchasing new glasses; but unlike many expensive brands, Polette offers chic frames at super affordable prices. Since I am both a glasses-wearer and totally clumsy (almost all my glasses end up with scuffs and scratches!), afford eyewear is a must for me. These glasses only cost $46.98 – and that’s including my prescription, and single vision premium lenses. I rarely buy trendy-frames but with Polette eyewear being so affordable, I don’t see why I wouldn’t try a trendier look here and there!
In summary, the frames are comfortable, sleek, and elegant. I enjoy their oversized fit as they have that perfectly fun geek chic look.
