outfit details: Jenelai Blousy Romper c/o Tobi
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been a bit “out for the count”. I recently took on a exciting new job (which I can’t wait to tell you more about!) while still working the final weeks at my last job (well, current job until the end of the month), hurt my back, and now am struggling with a pretty nasty cold. To say it’s been busy, exciting, stressful, and uncomfortable would be an understatement! It’s been a funny mixture of emotions, but I am so excited for these next few weeks to come to a close and to get started on my new work and projects.
The biggest struggle lately has been my back. When I was 13, I had the Harrington rod surgery for scoliosis and since then spinal health and overall health has been very important in my life. It’s also meant that my back injures easier, and that taking care in picking exercises that support my spine and not hurt it is essential.
But, since my schedule lately has gone up a level and has been so hectic, I foolishly also decided to step up my workout routines. I quickly realized that trying to compress my workouts to be as difficult as possible in as short of a time resulted in injuries – first a minor hand injury, and then my back. Now, I can’t exercise at all and all I can do is try to get my back healthy and pain-free again.
Since my life has felt a bit out of control lately, I have been in desperate need of things that make life a bit more simple. I’ve been tracking down quick and easy meal recipes (and really overusing my crockpot on Sundays to create meals for the week), and I’ve scaled back my weekly blog posts.
But one thing that usually takes me a lot of time (and honestly, I usually love) is picking out my daily outfits. Being busy means spending 20+ minutes picking out pieces to wear just isn’t an option, and that means that lately I’ve been turning to pieces that require little thought and little matching. Rompers are the ultimate “no thought, no hassle” piece of clothing, and it’s why lately I’ve been turning to them so much. This Jenelai Blousy Romper combines all of my favourite things – comfort, style, ease, and my one of my favourite colours – soft mauve.

LOVE that color on you! And agreed, rompers are so easy to wear if you can find ones that fit you properly, as this one does!
Ugh, that sucks about your back! Hopefully it heals quickly. I have a bad back (and knee) as well but I’m sure the back isn’t as bad as yours. Just all those years of gymnastics and a teeny bit of scoliosis catching up with me)

I totally agree, finding the right fit for a romper is essential. I tend to like ones that float away from the body and feel a bit like PJs, but still manage to appear stylish. Tobi online has a ton of great rompers, I am obsessed with their clothing.
Ah that is so brutal! A bad knee and a bad back? That’s terrible! That would be tough to deal with. My back is on the mend, but it’s always been an issue. The surgery definitely made it so certain parts are more susceptible to injury and inflammation.
Bree I like the color of this romper, it is a lovely shade that suits you so well xox
Congratulations on the new position, I can hardly wait to hear all about it, you sound so excited. 🙂
I am sorry about your back, I know about getting injured an how it can bring you down, make sure not go back to exercising to quickly or you will just re-injure yourself… I did that and it to me so much longer to heal… as well it is taking me that much longer to get back on track… xox
Looks amazing, I just wanna to know more about this, thanks for sharing baby!
