It occurred to me the other day that I still had yet to share with you the products I received and tried while at the London Drugs #LDBeauty event a few weeks back. Well today, I am finally starting to share a few of my absolute favourites from Revolution Makeup . Makeup Revolution is not yet in London Drugs stores, but they are launching there soon. (and if you read the full post today and enter our giveaway, you could win the products I am reviewing!)
One thing I really enjoyed bout this event, and about London Drugs in general, is that all of their products are within a affordable realm. Since I am all about affordable style and beauty, today I am super excited to let you in on a few drugstore products that are both affordable and absolutely fantastic.
Makeup Revolution Review:
Iconic 3 Palette
This palette is a mixture of shimmer and matte shadows. I personally prefer when a palette includes a mixture of textures as it makes them all easier to work and wear together. Typically I wear a shimmer shadow on my lid, and a matte shadow along my eyelid crease, so having both of these readily available in one palette is a win-win for me!
For the most part, these shadows are along the lines of being blush toned. There are a few deeper shades that are perfect for creating a more dramatic eye, but for the most part this palette is made up of very soft and romantic blush tones. When applied, these shadows are very pigmented and apply true to the colour you see in the pan. Most drugstore eyeshadows I’ve found challenging when trying to achieve a bold eyeshadow look, but this Revolution Iconic 3 Palette applied highly pigmented and was very blendable.
Queen Blush Palette
I’ve always love baked blushes and eyeshadows, so it really came to no surprise when I tried the Queen Blush Palette and immediately LOVED it! The 8 colours in the palette are all highly pigmented and provide a natural blushed look as well as a glowy highlight. I have been using these blushes nearly every day since receiving them and can say that I am 100% addicted to them. I always love products that go double-duty, and these blushes do just that as they act as both a blush and a highlight.
Golden Lights Highlighter
This powder highlight is absolutely divine. A few years ago, I invested in NARS Albatross, and wore it like crazy. The Golden Lights Highlighter has a very similar look and finish to that highlight, except it comes in a unique pan and is much more affordable. This powder highlight applies very pigmented, so it’s easy to over-apply this product, but when used with a light hand it looks gorgeous!
