This past Sunday was a pretty sport-filled day, which is really quite out of the norm for me. Jer & I woke up at 4:00AM to cheer team Canada on in the gold medal Olympic games, which I’m so glad we did because that game was fantastic! It was a pretty exciting and proud moment here and we definitely cheers’d our mugs of coffee together in celebration. I know it sounds crazy to get up at 4AM but we actually weren’t alone in the early morning festivities! We invited over a couple of our friends and they woke up even earlier to venture over to our place for a big breakfast, tasty coffee & the big gold medal game.
Later on in the day we ended up out at the Olympic Oval in Richmond to see J’s brother compete in his power lifting competition. I swear my mouth nearly dropped to the floor when I saw what these guys lifted, it’s absolute (impressive) insanity. I think I said “holy cannoli!” about 100 times over the course of the afternoon.
What is most surprising about this all really though is that I actually forced myself to venture outside in the snow. Whenever it gets cold and snowy like this, typically I make like a hermit and stay indoors but this weekend I pulled myself together and put on a few cozy favourites to ready myself for the cold snow. I love pieces like this coat that balance practicality with stylish detailing; it’s fit and flare silhouette is one that I’m always drawn to as it plays to a classically feminine style that I love.
