After a long week of work, there’s nothing I enjoy more than sitting out on my patio and just soaking up some sun – especially since we built and set up our new pallet patio furniture! These few minutes of outdoor bliss are what I consider the perfect relaxing self-care time.
While by the end of a busy work week, I’ll want to take an hour or two to unwind. Sometimes I’ll just quickly take 10 throughout the week to get away from my computer and reset my mind.
I truly feel that it’s so important to take a few minutes for yourself each and every day – even if it’s just 10 minutes – to get into a healthier, happier, and more motivated mindset. And, there’s no place I enjoy taking 10 more than out on our patio. I absolutely love sitting outside and just listening to the birds while sipping some SunRype Slim Lemon Drop Lemonade. It’s so quiet and relaxing.
Since moving, this has been my favourite way to unwind and get a little me-time. When we lived downtown, we didn’t have an outdoor space and my oh my – I didn’t know what I was missing out on! Now that we have our little green getaway, I cannot help but feel like I just couldn’t live without it.
While we were living downtown, we loved going to patios for Happy Hour with friends. Now that we live a bit further from the city (and because we’re living on a bit of a budget – thanks to our new home! Ha!) we still want to enjoy “Happy Hour” with friends. Now we invite them over to hang out on our patio rather than go out to a restaurant.
Whenever friends come over for a patio session, I always like to serve up a few bits and bites, and most importantly: a delicious, and refreshing drink.
For me, this usually means a delicious charcuterie board and an extra-large pitcher of my favourite Spiked Lavender Lemonade using SunRype Slim Lemon Drop Lemonade. See below for the recipe.
If lemonade isn’t your thing, don’t worry – SunRype Slim actually has a ton of other flavours and delicious low-calorie cocktail recipes for you to try out this summer. I prefer to use the Slim Lemon Drop Lemonade for my recipe. It adds just the right amount of sweetness, has a great lemon flavour and it’s so refreshing.
