Lately, I’ve felt my spirits have completely been lifted. I don’t know about you, but sometimes during the winter months, I can begin to feel like I’m getting into a bit of a funk. At first, it’s nice keeping indoors with big mugs of cocoa & swaddled in cozy blankets, but by the end of winter I just can’t wait for it all to be over and for the sun to appear. This little taste of spring we’re getting here in Vancouver has given me that burst of energy that I’ve been seeking, and so in need of. A change in weather and season always helps to inspire, and when I woke up to see the sunshine I felt as though I had hit “refresh” on my mindset.  I first purchased this peach blossom midi skirt with the thought that it would be so perfect for the spring, and so the very first day I had the chance to wear it, I did.

One thing I am so excited to wear more this spring is midi skirts. I really adore the look of midi skirts as I feel they always create sophisticated looks. This navy & peach blossom skirt really jumped out at me while I was doing a little online shopping on Chicwish. I adore the glamorous flare of the skirt, the deep navy tone, and the pretty blossom print.

Spring is one of my favourite times of the year. Maybe it’s that old  “Spring cleaning” mentality that’s getting to me, but lately, I’ve just been so inspired to get things done and organized. I’ve re-organized my closet, and swapped out some of my heavy winter clothes for lighter brighter pieces. I’ve finally gotten around to starting our table project (we’ve wanted to sand & paint it) which we meant to complete months ago, but the rain-delayed it. It’s exciting to feel this energized to get things done again, and to no longer be in hibernation.

The skirt's pattern is really beautiful. But I think it looks a little big too bulky (? not sure whether that's the right word). Other than that I love the colours in your outfit and especially your hair!! 🙂

I love this! I was having a hard time commenting on my phone, so I rushed home! Haha 😉 any tips on how a short girl with a super short torso can pull off the voluminous skirt without looking like a cupcake? Because it looks so pretty on you, but I can't seem to get the proportions right on me…

Hey Holly! I would suggest pairing the skirt with a more fitted top with a V cut neckline, it's very elongating. Also, wearing pointed heels rather than rounded toes will help balance a voluminous skirt. If you're still feeling it looks a little too overwhelming on you, try pulling your hair up – that'll also add to creating a longer line! Let me know if that works for you! xx
