Fresh details
There’s nothing that freshens up your style like new accessories. For example, rather than wearing your heavy plaid scarf, try wearing a floral one instead. Simple changes like this are A) inexpensive, and B) totally fool proof! They’ll make your style appear more refreshed and spring-ready without you needing to change your entire wardrobe. One way I am changing my accessories is with a new fresh pair of frames. Since I wear glasses every day, glasses are an essential part of my style and they are the one major accessory that I like to have a few options on hand. This way if I ever feel tired of my look, I simply switch my glasses. The glasses I am wearing today are the Derek Cardigan 7011 from Clearly.ca, they have a dark tortoise shell half-frame that is met with sleek gold metal. These frames have a sophisticated vibe to them and remind me of retro journalists.
Ripped denim
If there’s one denim style that’s seemed to become the must-have this year, it’s ripped and distressed jeans. For years, I’ve loved ripped denim – and back in my “punky” high school days, I wore ripped denim exclusively. So for me, this trend is almost nostalgic feeling. One thing that I really enjoy about ripped denim, in general, is that it adds a unique element of visual interest to a look. Even when you’re wearing a very simple and casual look, distressed make it look a bit more styled and interesting.

Brightened Beauty
Another easy way to update your style and look for spring is with your makeup look. Bring out your brighter lipsticks, pinky blushes, and bold nail colours and invite spring into our beauty routine. One way I am brightening up my beauty routine is with my nails. Instead of going for a simple or muted tone, I decided to go with a bold red polish. This polish colour is by CND and is called “Guava“, and I got my nails done at Onyx Aesthetics Studio. Psst – I also recently shared a 5 minute fresh and flawless makeup tutorial which is PERFECT for spring!Open Toes or Open Heels
While this won’t work on cold rainy days, on the sunnier ones wearing open toe or open heel shoes can really make a look appear “spring ready”. The fact is, during the winter open-toed shoes are a 100% no-go, so by bringing them out of hibernation, you’re really putting that spring-spin on your style. Now we just need to make sure our feet are ready for open toed shoes! #HelloPedicures Stripes SHOP TODAYS LOOK:
