So often office style is viewed as boring or dull, but lately it’s something I’ve really been enjoying. In-fact, I’ve been enjoying it so much that it’s been creeping into my off-hours style. Recently I met up with a fellow blogger and I decided to wear this polished office-ready look for our coffee meeting. While I usually turn to my typical distressed jeans & simple t-shirt for a quick coffee meeting, this time I felt like going for a bit more of a sophisticated look.
Over last few weeks I had wanted to prove to myself that my office style could be fun. I had challenged myself to make each outfit a bit more fun because (especially during the colder months) I can feel somewhat uninspired when it comes to what to wear to work. My challenge absolutely worked because now I am hooked on professional style and I am really enjoying dressing up each day. Click through today and learn how add a bit more fun into your office style!
How to Master Your Office Style
Create a Style Challenge for Yourself
Let’s be honest, once you know your job inside-out – work can get a little boring. We need to add things into our days that make them feel a bit more.. spiffy. For me, the way I add a bit of pep into my step has always been through style. I love dressing up and adding fun accessories to my look. So the first step to having great office-ready style is to challenge yourself to create stylish looks.
Add Loafers into Your Work Attire
Smoking slippers have been some of my favourite shoes of late. They are flat which means they are pain-free and comfortable, and they also look really chic. Menswear-inspired smoking slippers have a very sophisticated and deliberate look to them. I feel like they add another element of professionalism to a look.
Embrace the “Geek Chic” Look
As around the clock glasses wearer, I pretty much always embrace my inner geek. Rather than fight it, I think rocking your glasses in a professional look can create a really sophisticated and smart looking outfit. I absolutely adore these chic Derek Cardigan glasses and I wear them basically every day now!
Play with Cute Collars
For office-wear, I love to mix up my necklines – and over the last year I’ve been especially drawn to peter pan collars. Peter pan collars like the one on the shirt in today’s post are cute and playful and they add a sort of school vibe to a look. It’s like a cheeky + fun take on professional wear.

SUCH a great post!! You look way, way too adorable- I am loving your glasses!

You look so cute as always Bree… I agree with trying to have a little fun with your office style makes it so much less boring… I love your umbrella xox
Such a cute outfit! I totally agree on the glasses part. I've been wearing glasses practically my whole life and although it doesn't always "go" with every look, it definitely always adds a fun twist to office outfits.

Loving this look! Fortunately for me, I don't have to go to an office anymore and never really was in a professional environment. My first job I was able to wear jeans (although I did like to mix it up with dresses and nice pants) and the second was fashion so I could do anything, haha

And I like you office look, in my case, since my work dress code is pretty laid back I usually try different things through the week. Sometimes I nail it, sometimes I dont !
