So often we are attached to the idea that quality means you have to pay more, and that just isn’t always the case. While I do believe that when you find your “perfect” product that you should invest in it, that doesn’t mean your perfect product has to blow your budget – and these 10 best drugstore beauty products I’m sharing with you today prove it. My beauty bin is filled with a mixture of drugstore and luxury brand products because I truly believe that the “it factor” of beauty products is a lot less about the price tag, and a lot more about finding what works on your skin type. Today I am sharing my favourite drugstore brand beauty products so be sure to click through if you’re looking to revamp your beauty bin without breaking your budget!
The 10 Best Drugstore Beauty Products
I actually forgot about this primer / brightener until recently while going through my makeup. I love how much Revlon’s Eye Primer + Brightener brightens up my eyes – it’s the perfect product for all of us who struggle with early mornings. The application is really easy; all you need to do is twist the bottom of the applicator and the product will come out on the brush. You then swipe the product where you want coverage and then rub it in using a sponge or your finger. I have found that after a few hours this can crease under your eyes, so I recommend applying a bit of an eye serum under your eyes before applying this primer.
My most recent body care addictions are the Jergens Wet Coconut Oil and Green Tea Oil Moisturizers. You apply these moisturizers while your skin is still wet from the shower and then proceed to towel off. Since you’re applying the product over the water on your skin, you’re locking in more moisture which really helps sooth dry skin. Plus, both of the scents of these moisturizers are incredible! See my full post on Jergens Wet Moisturizers here!
These lip balms have been some of my favourites over the last few years. They are incredibly easy and comfortable to wear. Revlon Laquer Lip Balms are great for those who struggle with dry chapped lips because they are so hydrating. The best part of these balms though is the pigmentation. Unlike so many other tinted balms, these lip balms are strongly pigmented.
I love NYX cosmetics blushes. They are highly pigmented so you never need to use much of them to get a great colour, and they have a variety of really beautiful colours which makes them a great brand for all skin tones. I typically stick to light blush tones with plum or copper undertones as I find they appear the most natural on my skin.
I don’t often wear a full face of makeup, but when I do want a look with a bit more coverage I often turn to Vichy BB creams. I can’t handle wearing any sort of facial makeup that feels heavy on my skin and Vichy BB Creams really have a light weight and natural feel to them. I also quite like the matte finish of these BB Creams. Check out this Natural Makeup Tutorial to see the look of Vichy Matte BB Creams.
Love matte finis longwear lipsticks? Then you’ll NEED to try out NYX lip creams. Their lip creams have been some of my favourite products over the last few years as they are a matte finish, super affordable, and come in a wide array of colours.
One of my favourite concealers has been L’Oreal Paris Magic Lumi Concealer. The thing about this concealer is that it also works wonderfully as a highlighter and really combats the look of dark circles. During the weekdays, I personally battle with dark circles (I swear, these 5AM wake up calls are taking a toll!) and I always turn to my L’Oreal Paris Magic Lumi Concealer to help ease the look of tired eyes.
When it comes to brushes, I have yet to find any that are on the level of Real Techniques. The brush bristles are incredible soft, they do not shed, and the full set packs are incredible affordable. I have yet to find a Real Techniques Brush that I do not love!
NYX has long been one of my favourite cosmetic brands, but I have always especially liked their bronzer. Unlike so many bronzers, NYX matte bronzer does not have a orange unnatural finish. Their bronzer also applies and is blended easily.
Revlon is a great drugstore brand that now has an exceptional line of liquid to matte lipsticks. These lipsticks apply as a liquid and then dry to your lips. They come in a variety of bold colours, wear for hours without fade, and have little transfer or bleed.
