Rain Proof Boots Under $200

The BEST Boots Under $200

The rain and cold have officially shown up in Vancouver and you guys – they’ve made quite the entrance.  Now, when I say it’s been rainy – I mean it has been torrential.  The roads look like waterfalls, and I may or may not have slipped on my way to work this morning. Word of advice: Don’t wear slippery ballot flats on as rainy as heck day.    The BEST Boots Under $200   Anyways, with that being said, I thought it would be timely to share some great shoe options for the fall and winter season. I’ve already gone ahead and ordered a few pairs for myself and I’m excited to share my top picks with you all!    The BEST Boots Under $200Stylish Boots Under $200

Ankle Boots

While I love all boot styles, I have found that ankle boots in particular are my go-to. Whether I’m heading to work, out with friends, or running errands – I pretty much find that my ankle boots are the ones I slip on almost 100% of the time. Ankle boots generally look great with all pants – so long as the pant length hits just above the boot height. I recently purchased the Naturalizer Blondo Danie ankle boots and I just love how they look with my  babaton work pants (I wear these more than any other work-pant), and how they look when paired with more casual styles – like babaton work pants or jeggings.

Knee High Boots

Next up, let’s talk about Knee High Boots. I don’t wear knee high boots as often, but I also love how they look when worn over leggings, jeggings, and with dresses and skirts.  Knee High Boots offer you a bit more coverage which will help keep you warmer on those cooler days, and they can look super stylish.

Over the Knee Boots

Over the knee boots have become quite popular over the last few years, and I can totally see why.  From a practical standpoint, over-the-knee boots really take the cake. They offer you the most coverage and warmth.

Rain-boots

Lastly, let’s talk about rain-boots! Rain-boots are an absolute essential when you live in a rainy climate like I do. We have full months of just rain, rain, and more rain – and it’s important to have rain gear on hand for those endless rainy days.  The great thing about rain boots? You only need one pair, and you’ll likely have the same pair for years. They are really a one-time investment sort of piece provided you treat them well.

“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
