The T3 Featherweight LUXE 2i hair dryer and T3 Singlepass Luxe straightening iron were sent to me, but all opinions expressed are 100% my own!

When it comes to my hairstyling, I typically go pretty simple – and there’s really nothing that I love more than a really great blowout.

My love for a really voluminous blowout started back in high school. When others would go and get up-dos and unique hair stylings, I would always just ask for the same thing: a blowout.

It wasn’t until I got older though, that I realized that I could attempt to recreate this look at home.

Since then, I’ve tried to perfect my at home blowout and today I am sharing my top tips to creating the perfect blowout at home! So, scroll through read more!

1. The 80% Dry Rule

Once you’re out of the shower, you’ll want to towel dry your hair. If you’re in a rush you can start to blow dry your hair, but you’ll want to wait until it’s about 80% dry before you run a brush through it.

The reason you want to wait is because when you’re hair is wet it’s in it’s most fragile state.  Brushing it while it’s wet can cause your hair to weaken and break.

Typically, I just air dry my hair, but in today’s video I was in a rush to go to a blog event so I went ahead and dried it.

2. Use a Blow Out Cream

I only started using a blow out cream in the last year, but I so wish I had discovered it sooner. Using this cream helps the blow drying process so much and helps dry your hair smoother more easily.

I’ve been using the TRESemme Blow Out cream over the last few months and I really like it. It works very well on my hair, but if you have very fine hair you may find that this cream weighs your hair down.

If you have finer strands than I recommend using a blow out spray instead of a cream.

3. Brush, Separate, and Roll

Before you go ahead and blow out your hair, you’re going to want to run a comb or brush through it. I typically use a wide-tooth comb, but I lost mine on my recent trip to Sayulita and so instead today I used a brush.

Once your hair is brushed out, you’ll want to separate it into sections. I used the clips that came with my T3 Singlepass Luxe straightening iron to separate my hair into sections.

Once it’s separated, it’s time to grab your round brush and begin blow-drying your hair.

I try to roll the brush down as I blow dry it, though of course doing this at home yourself is a bit challenging. Don’t worry if you can’t do this all the way around, you’ll be able to fix up those small errors at the end!

4. Get More Volume

To achieve more volume with your blowout hairstyle, you’ll want to blow dry your roots in the opposite direction that they’ll end up laying.

Also, remember to flip your hair over and blow dry your hair that way, too! You can also use a roots volumizing spray to make your hair even more voluminous.

5. De-Frizz

To de-frizz your hair quickly, finish by blow drying your hair on the cold setting. This will eliminate frizz and smooth out your hair.

By finishing the blow drying process with cold air, you actually help close the hair follicles. Have you ever blow dried your hair, gone outside, and noticed your hair was instantly frizzy? Well, by finishing on the cold setting, you’ll stop this from happening!

6. Let’s Fix It Up

Don’t worry if there are parts of your hair that don’t look perfect – we can fix those easily with the straightening iron!

The places I usually focus on are the front bangs and ends of my hair. To complete the look and smooth your hair, apply serum to the ends of your hair.

The Importance Of Choosing Great Heat Tools

A big part of getting a great blowout at home has to do with the heat tools you are using.  The hair dryer I’ve been using lately is the T3 Featherweight LUXE 2i hair dryer. This hair dryer helps dry your hair super quickly and helps reduce frizz to leave you with smooth glossy hair. It’s well-known for being the “healthy” hair drier and has even won 2 Allure Best of Beauty Awards.

Details on the T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i hair dryer:

  • Ion-enriched airflow dries large sections of hair quickly and gently
  • 3 heat settings and 2-speed settings
  • Cool shot button sets the look for a beautiful finish
  • Includes Tourmaline ceramic 2.5” barrel brush to enhance body and shine
  • Compatible with the SoftTouch 2 diffuser

For the hair straightener, I have been using the T3 Singlepass Luxe. I absolutely love this straightener, not only is it beautiful (just like hair dryer!), it also seriously works. It gives that super silky, straight, and soft look to my hair in just a single pass. Since my hair is dry-prone and can be a bit frizzy, I was really happy that this straightening iron was able to make my hair appear so smooth.

It’s such a pretty flat iron! It also gets super hot which is essential for my hair to curl. My hair is really unruly, so I need a pretty great flat iron to curl it!

“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
