If there’s one thing I get paranoid over in my beauty routine it has to be my eyes. I can handle bad hair days, the random grey hair, or the occasional blemish – but, when I fret about beauty – specifically my skin – I always end up focusing on my eyes.

While tired  looking eyes may just come with the territory of early mornings and restless nights, I don’t want my eyes to sport a permanent shadow.

For years (and I mean, seriously years – I started way back in high school) I’ve tried and tested numerous eye creams.

While I have found a few I liked, I’ve never found one that made me really want to stick to it. But recently I was sent and was immediately intrigued. Scroll down to read more on of my VIIcode OM2 Oxygen Eye Mask Review!

VIIcode OM2 Oxygen Eye Mask Review

While these patches may look silly, they are the cure to my tired looking eyes.  Lately, I’ve been applying these VIIcode patches to my under-eyes before bed. I allow the patches to sit all night and in the mornings I peel them off.

This past weekend I needed this rejuvenating eye treatment even more desperately after having an incredibly late night and early morning. If you follow me on Snapchat (urbanumbrella29) than you likely saw that I even got Jeremy in on the eye-patches as he also had a really late Saturday night.

After a very busy weekend, I absolutely thought that on Monday my eyes would look tired and drawn, but instead I found that my eyes appeared much smoother and hydrated.

I had never used eye pad treatments before so when I first started using the VIIcode OM2 Oxygen Eye Mask patches I really had no expectations. I was really surprised after opening my first packet to find the small cotton pads with their jelly treatment on one side.

I had thought it would feel sticky, or like a heavy cream on my face, but instead it felt cool and refreshing. After washing off my makeup, and cleansing my skin, I then applied the VIIcode OM2 Oxygen Eye Mask patches and settled in for bed.

VIIcode under-eye skincare treatment review

These treatments provide continuous treatment over 8 hours so it’s best to use it while you sleep. It uses ecological plant oxygen extracts which means you’re helping your eyes without using harsh or harmful chemicals.

Since I have sensitive skin, I am always looking for products that have mainly natural ingredients. My skin can easily become red and irritated from harsh chemicals and leave my skin feeling striped and uncomfortable.

I have to say, these under eye treatments did none of that; my eyes looked bright and more glowing, and my skin was left soft as can be.

A package of VIIcode OM2 Oxygen Eye Mask treatments costs $55 comes with 6 packets. On their website, VIIcode recommends that you use these treatments 2-3 times weekly, and typically after 3 boxes you see full results.

I personally have been using them twice weekly, and honestly felt like I could see a difference the day after trying my first mask.

I'll have to try these! I get allergy shiners and it looks like I've been punched in the eyes sometimes. I've given up trying to cover it up and just sort of embraced it but these might help!

Hmmm, sounds like something I'll need to try! Not sure I want to spend $55 on a box though, haha. But my eyes are ALWAYS tired looking, big dark circles, all of that, haha

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want If you had told me 10 years ago that I would want to spend all of my spare time off grid, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and mountains — I would’ve told you that you were crazy... But here we are 🤷‍♀️😂🌲💛 #WhereLifeLeads
“I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛 I s “I want to grow seeing you smiling” 💛

I saw so many powerful messages today from people sharing their "why" — the reason behind why they were there and standing as one of the "fringe". Here's a few reasons that I saw and heard:

- Why? Because I want my child to grow seeing smiles and smiling
- Why? Because I miss my family and loved ones.
- Why? Because my lived experience tells me not to trust what is happening right now.
- Why? Because I believe in our informed consent principles.
- Why? Because I believe in choice without coercion.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my job as a healthcare worker.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my business.
- Why? Because I’ve lost my home.
- Why? Because I’ve been injured.
- Why? Because I think there’s a better way forward for everyone.
- Why? Because I chose what I knew was best for me and I want everyone else to be free to do that as well.

Everyone has a unique reason why, and it’s important to take a moment to recognize and acknowledge them. Now is the time. Let's come together and be united💛

I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the I want to be clear: I am not trying to dismiss the loss and illness that so many have experienced from C. It has been an extraordinarily hard two years for many, many people, for all sorts of different reasons and it is not my aim to diminish any of them. What I am trying to express is that we are at a breaking point societally.

If we continue to move forward with coercion, mandates, restrictions, and divisive passports based on fear (or a hope) then we risk setting precedents that we may not be comfortable leaning on in the future. We also risk dividing our society to such a degree that may make it difficult, if not impossible, to ever bring back together. Despite all of the debates, arguments, and comments made over the last few years, I do not believe that deep down Canadians want to live in a state of perpetual division.

If this is not the time to unite and end these mandates, when is? It is our systems that are broken, and they have been broken for a very long time. We all know this. Let's unite and fix them, and more together 💛

Creating our own peace ☮️

Nearing the end of 2021, one thing that Jer & I wanted to prioritize was creating our own peace. Life has been exhausting for the last long while and, like most people, our mental well-being suffered from the current state of Canada. We knew we needed to make some changes, add something to our lives to remove us (even temporarily, now and again) from the chaos that is now the “new normal”. So, we began making road trips around BC to find our very own home away from home. I feel immensely lucky to now have this remote sanctuary in our lives. It is somewhere we can go when life gets too overwhelming, somewhere we could live eventually if life continues to be overwhelming. In just the first few days here, I’ve already felt a shift in my mindset. I feel incredibly lucky to have this place and already it feels like home. 💖
✨Growing pains✨ . . . 2021, for many of us, w ✨Growing pains✨
. . .
2021, for many of us, was a year of growth. Some of it was painful, most of it inspiring, and all of it necessary. Sometimes growing means needing to shed the older versions of ourselves and sometimes that can be difficult or cause a loss in friendships or relationships. It can be challenging - believe me, I get it. But, anything or anyone who couldn't respect your growth then won't respect your future growth. While growth can be painful it is not nearly as painful as the dull consistent ache of feeling stuck.
