If you’ve been to many weddings than chances are you have got your wedding guest attire down to just changing up the accessories from one wedding to the next; but if you’re like me and have rarely been to any weddings than chances are you find achieving the perfect wedding guest attire pretty difficult. With all the rules out there from “don’t wear red”, to the biggest no-no “don’t wear white”, it can be easy to get caught up in the “don’ts” rather than the style “do’s”.
This past weekend we made the journey out to Kelowna (also known as the land of sunshine & great wines in the summer) to attend a wedding. I’ll be honest and let you all in on the fact that I brought four dresses along to choose between because I sincerely was concerned about what to wear. If you follow me on Instagram than you likely saw that originally I wore a beige dress with a lovely green necklace to the wedding; but after standing in the 40C heat, I made a quick change before the reception. For the reception I decided on this prim & polished yellow lace dress paired with neutral accessories which ended up being the perfect choice for the sunny Saturday wedding reception.
When you’re attending a wedding one of the main items to consider is the weather. This especially rings true if the ceremony & reception are both outdoors. Since the wedding we attended was outdoors all day I made sure to pack pieces that would be light and airy. This yellow lace dress proved to be a great choice as it kept me cool during the outdoor reception. It also was a very appropriate choice colour & fit wise for a wedding at a winery.
