The White Button-Down You’ll Actually Want to Wear
Reading Time: 3minutes
We all know about style staples: a great pair of jeans, a tailored blazer, a comfortable pair of heels, and a great button-down blouse. Many of these pieces are the items you’ll wear time and time again, find incredibly versatile, and will take you from the office, to cocktail hour, to job interview, to weekend chill.
For me, there’s no greater staple than a white button-down shirt. Whether you wear it with jeans, or work slacks, (I personally love pairing mine with ripped jeans) it looks chic and it should feel comfortable. But that’s the thing – most button down shirts don’t feel comfortable. Instead, they are stiff, thin, and almost feel like paper on your skin. A few months ago, I literally looked in my closet and decided it was time to throw out all the uncomfortable button-downs I owned. I wasn’t wearing them because they weren’t comfortable, and I vowed to myself that I wouldn’t bother investing in any more until I found one that I actually wanted to wear.
Miik clothing is a Canadian based fashion company that I discovered last year. I had the joy of trying out a few of their beautiful and soft dresses, and when I recently went on their website and saw they had a white button-down I knew I had finally found the staple button-down shirt I had been looking for. With their commitment to comfortable and soft fabrics, I felt confident that this was the shirt I had been looking for all along.
My Miik button-down arrived just a few short days ago, and if you follow me on Instagram then you likely already recognize it. As soon as I took it out of its packaging I was excited to wear it out. So, I decided to style it with ripped black jeans for the #LuxeByLoreal event. I loved it. It was super comfortable to wear all night (it seriously feels like pyjamas), and it looked incredibly streamlined and chic. This simple staple item was such a challenge to find, but now that I have this Olive oversized button tunic from Miik, it’s all I want to wear.
That’s what I call beauty hides in details! The black leather jacket ideally matches this white shirt tucked in black knee ripped skinnies. Everything looks sweet, classy and edgy. I like the lace-up booties.
