If you work Monday – Friday at an office, then chances are you have a few key items that you wear on repeat. When I worked at an office, rather than at home like I do, that’s what I did – and it just made my life easier.
Knowing which styles would work day to day made picking an outfit in the morning easy. I had 1-2 key pair of pants, about 5-10 shirts that I rotated through, a few cardigans, and a couple dresses. It was a simple wardrobe, but it was one that made my daily life easy enough that I always felt confident in whatever I chose to wear in the AM – regardless of how tired and groggy I was.
A simple shift dress, like this Ruffle Sleeve Printed Shift Dress from Reitmans, is probably one of the easiest go-tos there can be in one’s wardrobe. You can wear it as a simple shift, or you add a belt to give the look a bit more shape and to change the overall look of it.
You can also easily dress a shift dress up or down, depending on the occasion. For a casual day at the office, pair it with some nice sandals, or even a pair of slip ons. For dressier events, pair it with heels.
Do you own any shift dresses? Would you consider them an essential?

I totally agree, it was so much easier when I figured out what my key pieces were for work!
The fit is good and it provides the protection I want for my fair skin.
