A few weeks ago I tweeted about two new eye shadows that I had just added into my beauty collection. I was so excited to finally have purchased these to shadows that I instantly had to let you all in on the lovely new additions, and now today – finally, I have my review and swatches up.
These two colours have been long on my beauty wish list for some time. I always am drawn to neutral shadows as I find them the most wearable for my daily looks, but I love shadows that have something unique about them. Wookwinked has a gorgeous metallic finish while Brown Script is a deep terracotta brown and those two things are what really stood out to me as unique with these two shadows. Woodwinked: Described as an “antique gold” by MAC, Woodwinked is a beautiful soft brown with gold tones.
Brown Script: This eye shadow is described as a “warm chestnut brown” and I feel like that very accurate. The colour is a deep brown eyeshadow with a lot of red notes through it, making it somewhat of a terracotta brown.
Woodwinked is a Veluxe Pearl formula which means it looks quite metallic. It applies really smoothly which surprised me because I usually find metallic shadows apply slightly flaky/dry. I also have found that this product has little to none fall out which again has been very surprising since I usually find the opposite in metallic eye shadows. Brown Script is Matte. Matte shadows have no shimmer or dimension, they sit very muted on skin. I love Matte colours for day looks and also to tone down a shimmery eye. I adore how this eye shadow applies. It applies very smooth + soft and blends very easily. This has quickly become one of my absolute favourite eye shadows and I’ve been wearing it daily!
These shadows cost $14.00 each which I feel is quite affordable considering their quality and rich pigmentation. I have also always found my MAC eyeshadows last quite a long time which makes me feel even more comfortable with the cost.
