If there’s one thing I love in the fashion industry, it’s a brand that is more than just a company. EMU Australia is just that, and shows it by supporting incredible causes such as World Water Day. Emu Australia is a premium footwear brand that offers comfortable high quality footwear. Known for their cozy premium boots, Emu invited me to take part in supporting WaterAid Canada quest to providing access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest and most marginalized communities by going BLUE with my boots! So today, I am going #Blue4Water and sharing a fun DIY project – so be sure to scroll down to read and see more.
World Water Day DIY Project
What You Need:
How:
- To start, I taped off the section I wanted to paint. I decided I wanted the back of these boots to be blue, so I taped off that section and then got out my paint.
- I put the fabric paint on a paper towel, and then began to apply it to the boots. After covering the entire area, I then used the lighter metallic paint to outline the EMU logo.
Growing up, I never had to be concerned that the water I was drinking was unsafe in any way. Knowing that there are so many people around the world who don’t have access to this basic necessity breaks my heart, and I am glad to be taking part in supporting this incredible cause.
World Water Day is a day which we all can stand and show our support for the human right to clean drinkable water. You can join and support WaterAid’s work by visiting www.wateraidcanada.com/World-Water-Day and donating! Go #Blue4Water!
Thank you Water Aid Canada and Emu Australia for partnering with me on this post! All opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own.

What a great cause! It is really sad to know that there are people out there that have to worry about their water or where their next meal will come from. Always good to get some perspective on what problems people face that are more than just “ugh, I have to work today”

Great cause! I also loved seeing the DIY you did because it’s so versatile; I could probably use that technique for different pairs of shoes!
Totally, you definitely could take any pair of shoes or boots and make them more uniquely you by applying fabric paint! It’s a lot of fun!
